Subsequent stages increased the level by using more difficult vocabulary and sentences.
The final 5th step includes the original text.
The original text of The Little Prince, consisting of 27 chapters, was not selected, but the same chapters were divided into five stages by only changing the words and sentences.
This means that the book provides a variety of levels to suit the reader, without the reader having to search for original books that are appropriate for their level.
For example, in stage 1, only the present tense is used, such as 'I see a big snake in the book.'
In the second stage, sentences like this are changed to the past tense, such as 'I saw a big snake in the book.'
In step 4, 'Once, when I was 6 years old, I saw a great picture in a book about a jungle forest.
Details are added and the sentence structure becomes more complex, such as 'It was a picture of a boa constrictor eating an animal.'
Even if difficult words were used in the original text, they were replaced with easier and more familiar words as the level gets lower.
For example, the word magnificent in the original text is replaced with very good in level 1 and with excellent in level 3.
If readers read the same content repeatedly through a series of processes, they will naturally be able to read the original text of The Little Prince without any difficulty.
