Dasan and Yeonam fall into gambling
Dasan and Yeonam indulge in gambling
Description
Book Introduction
Among the letters of Dasan Jeong Yak-yong, who strongly argued against the evils of gambling through Mokminsimseo, there is a story about how he once gambled with a government official at Chokseokru and enjoyed giving away 3,000 jeon to gisaengs.
It is said that when Park Ji-won of Yeonam got stuck while writing alone, he would play a game of double-cross with each hand, making a side with each hand.
Gambling was no exception during the Joseon Dynasty, and in particular, the Joseon-made gambling device, Ssangnyuk, was sought after even in China.

This is the first historical book to describe the history of gambling in Korea. It examines the homo ludens aspect of the Korean Peninsula through gambling, an underground entertainment culture that fully reflects the social and cultural aspects of the time.
The rich history of gambling cases and data, compiled through long-term research, and the coded correlations between gambling that represented each era are fascinating.
