Ordinary life has become a dream, and the economic downturn has left countless people in despair.
JK
Rowling pondered over ways to provide some comfort to those going through such trials.

Rowling serialized The Ickabog for free online for children and their guardians, and then published it as a book with children's illustrations.
And this year, 2021, we are publishing "Christmas Pig," our second project for both children and adults affected by the coronavirus.

"The Christmas Pig" is a book by J.K.
This is Rowling's first novel for children.
The author says he wrote it with young readers in mind, but JK
This novel, which fully displays Rowling's imagination and writing skills, provides reading pleasure and gentle emotion to adult readers as well.
Through the sudden separation from a precious person without even being able to say goodbye, the author poses a question to the reader: how effective is pure longing and love, and how does that power sustain life?

Into the book
Even though he was under the blanket, Dipi knew everything Jack said without him having to say anything.
Dipi also understood the feeling of disappointment Jack felt when Brendan held his mother's hand.
Even after Jack got to know Brendan better, he couldn't help feeling that way.
Jack wished it was his father who held his mother's hand.
Dipi understood Jack's feelings.
Jack was worried that his mother would become depressed again if Brendan said he would no longer be friends with her, but Dipi understood his feelings.
--- p.33 From “Another Change”

“Loser.”
Jack raised his voice a little more.
The old man spoke sharply from the driver's seat.
"jack.
“Don’t ever say what I just heard again.”
Jack didn't answer.
Jack noticed tears welling up in Holly's eyes and complained.
I was sick and tired of Holly's bullying.
I no longer want to live in peace.
I skipped dinner last night too because of Holly.
It was tedious to have to be mindful of what others thought when I was around Holly.
--- p.47 From "The New Angel"

A worried voice spoke.
“I’ve never done it before.
“I don’t know if it’s possible.”
A second voice spoke.
“I said it’s possible.
“It depends on how brave that kid is.”
A third voice, a bit older and more gravelly, spoke.
“It’s brave, but it’s too dangerous for the child.
I've been there many times and I know it very well.”
A fourth voice spoke.
“I’ve been there too.
“I think everyone has been there at least once.”
--- p.58 From “Night of Miracles and Lost Things”

As everyone mounted their horses, a howling horn sounded from behind the wall where they had misplaced their horses.
The kitchen scissors were terrified.
“Oh, no.
“That’s not a good sign.”
The rain asked in a frightened voice.
“What does that sound mean?”
“That means something that shouldn’t be here has come in.”
Jack and Christmas Pig exchanged worried glances.
Jack knew that Christmas Pig was thinking the same thing as him.
--- p.101 From "Let's Ride a Horse"

“The lost and found officers were talking about two items that had escaped.
They say that these are things that you shouldn't bring down to Lost and Found.
Do you know what those things are?
The mouths asked in unison.
“What is it?”
"Pig plush toys and action figures! Right over there..."
At that moment, a tremendous bang reverberated through the wilderness and the ground shook.
The bad habit gang screamed.
The compass screamed excitedly.
"The hunt has begun! The loser is here! You four, follow me closely! Now, let's run!"
--- p.194 From "Bad Habit Gang"

Publisher's Review
“Dippy, wait a minute.
“I will definitely save you.”
The 'Lost and Found', where no living being should ever set foot.
What will be the fate of the boy who finds himself in a place ruled by the cruel ruler 'Loser'?

Jack, who entered elementary school, has a friend who has been his companion since he was a baby, through all the times, both happy and sad.
This is a stuffed pig called 'Dee Pig', or 'Deepy' for short. (When Jack was young, he couldn't pronounce 'the', so he called him 'Dee', and the whole family called him that.) It has buttons instead of plastic eyes, and its pink body has faded to gray, but Diee is like a family member that Jack can't live without.

On Christmas Eve, something terrible happens to Jack.
While out with his family to buy Christmas tree decorations, Dipi was thrown out of the car in the middle of the road.
Jack returns home, not knowing where Dipi is or what condition he is in, and is overcome with shock, sadness, and anger.
That day, Jack is given a new pig doll to replace Dippy, but he refuses to give it to him, trying to tear off its head and throwing it against the wall.

Jack, lying in bed trying to fall into a light sleep, hears unfamiliar voices.
When I turned on the lights, I saw that the toys in the room, such as matchbox cars, stuffed pigs, wardrobes, and trash cans, were talking to each other.
To Jack, who is completely unable to understand the situation before his eyes, they tell him that objects like themselves can only “speak in the land of the living” on Christmas Eve, one day of the year.
The new pig doll tells Jack that Dippy is now in Lost and Found and suggests that he go there with her to look for Dippy.

Jack is reluctant to agree to the ridiculous and outrageous story, but accepts the offer in hopes of saving Dipi.
As soon as he does so, Jack's body shrinks to the size of a toy, and Jack and the pig doll, who have set out on an adventure, slowly fall into an unknown world of darkness.
As Jack falls, he realizes that objects such as a dog whistle, dentures, and a sock are falling around him… … .

Will Jack be able to rescue the Dippy of his dreams and return home safely? Illustrated by world-renowned illustrator Jim Field, this novel tells the thrilling adventures of a boy steeped in pure love.
The author, one of the world's greatest storytellers, brings hope and inspiration to readers through heartwarming and thrilling adventure stories.
"The Christmas Pig" will be a classic the whole family can enjoy together.
