V for Vendetta 30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition
Description
Book Introduction
A virtual future.
After a limited nuclear war, most of the world was destroyed, but Britain survived.
However, under the absolute power of the far-right group, the lives of all citizens are thoroughly controlled.
Then, suddenly, an unidentified anarchist named 'V' appears and attempts to awaken the people who live with their freedom mortgaged.
V, who shows his radical tendencies by occupying a government broadcasting station while wearing a Guy Fawkes mask and bombing the Houses of Parliament.
The 'head' and 'hands' are helplessly destroyed by V's cold and relentless steps.
What lies beyond V's gaze? Depicting a chillingly realistic totalitarian world devoid of freedom and self, "V for Vendetta" is considered a pinnacle of the graphic novel medium and represents the artistic vision of Alan Moore and David Lloyd.

Set in a fictional future England that has succumbed to fascism, it explores the suffocating nature of life within a dictatorial police state and the redemptive power of the human soul as it fights against it, ushering in a new era for graphic novels.
This work, remarkably sophisticated and intelligent, depicts a human being undaunted by the weight of oppression and resistance, displaying a depth unparalleled by any other work.
The V for Vendetta 30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition includes a new David Lloyd-colored "Tightening Stones" page from the original 10-issue DC Comics issue, a foreword by Lloyd and Moore, Moore's behind-the-scenes story "Behind the Painted Smile," and a sketchbook section with commentary by Lloyd.

Publisher's Review
About Guy Fawkes Day

The mask that the main character V wears throughout the film is a depiction of Guy Fawkes.
He was the mastermind behind the Gunpowder Plot of 1605, an attempt to assassinate the king, who was hostile to Catholicism, but was executed after the plot failed.
Every year on November 5th, the Gunpowder Plot is remembered for its failure.
Every year, a Guy Fawkes effigy is made and burned to celebrate the king's safety and to hope that such an incident will never happen again.
The writers of "V for Vendetta" were outraged by the far-right government in Britain at the time the series was being serialized, and argued that on Guy Fawkes Day, we should celebrate his attempt to blow up the Houses of Parliament rather than mock him.
