Publisher's Review
● “Serious things don’t suit us!”
A comic that captures the cheerful and enjoyable daily lives of children.
"I'll do something serious tomorrow!" is a graphic novel serialized for about three years in the children's educational book "The Whale Said So" by illustrator Jutsu.
Through cute and lovable characters such as Tosuni, Bbangji, Ongsimi, and Candy, who are all in the upper grades of elementary school, it depicts children going about their daily lives in familiar settings such as convenience stores, libraries, schools, and movie theaters.
Rather than a serious and heavy story as the title suggests, it mixes humor and wit with the daily life and experiences of children.
Rather than a long, complex narrative, this is a collection of short comics that show the story's development within twelve pages. Each story offers its own unique fun and enjoyment, while organically connecting to one another to create a cheerful and affectionate world.
A world that respects diversity created with anthropomorphic characters
All the characters appearing in "I'll Do Something Serious Tomorrow!" have different appearances.
Tosuni is a rabbit, Bbangji is a bread, Candy is a ghost, and Ongsimi is a puppy.
The supporting characters in each episode also have various appearances, such as people (people have various faces, such as round, triangular, and square), dust, turtles, chickens, and cucumbers.
Moreover, Ongsimi is depicted as a child in a wheelchair.
However, the characters in the work do not find each other's different appearances strange or pay attention to them.
It is natural that ‘I’ and ‘you’ are different.
It's just a picture of my friend, my neighbor.
The same goes for the existence of Ongsimi.
Friends don't say things like, 'Ongsimi uses a wheelchair because she has a disability.'
Because the wheelchair is a part of Ongsimi's body.
Not respecting diversity is not something that is taken for granted in the world of "Seriously Tomorrow!"
In this way, author Jutsu gently and naturally conveys the essential concept of 'diversity' to young readers through cute and naturally personified characters.
It also serves as a small but loud alarm bell for our society, which is aware of the concept and even advocates it, yet still divides and does not embrace those who are different from us, the weak, and minorities.
● 'Jutsu Universe' that makes you laugh out loud and hold your stomach, but also warms your heart
Author Jutsu was first loved for his cute and kitschy yet somehow hardcore and grotesque characters.
"I'll Do Something Serious Tomorrow!" is a "mild" work that expands upon the worldview of author Jutsu while also incorporating a more universal sensibility. It will capture the hearts of not only young readers but also adult readers who cry out, "Cute is the best!"
It is also a work that stands out for its unique humor and directing style, which is characteristic of author Jutsu.
It also contains many devices that remind us of children's cartoons of the past, such as scenes where characters fall backwards with a 'thud!' in absurd and ridiculous situations, episodes expressed only through drawings without dialogue, and episodes that express cartoons using the unique handwriting and drawing style of children.
The four main characters' hearts, which cherish their friends, are warm and affectionate enough to make you want to laugh out loud and hug the book tightly.
As such, "I'll Do Something Serious Tomorrow!" is a work that contains humor, emotion, and a brilliant sense, and is an ideal work to introduce readers to the emergence of the "Jutsu Universe."
[Characters]
○ Tosuni
A person who is absent-minded but has a more positive mind than anyone else.
He loves spicy ramen and always carries a gong in his bag, embarrassing his friends.

Friends with Tosuni since kindergarten.
He is good at drawing, especially cartoons.
Although he is a bit timid and fearful, he says whatever he wants to say honestly.
