After hearing the full story from the "God of History" in the navigation room, Conan and the Detective Boys ask their time traveler friends for help in finding Dr. Agasa.
Time traveler friends arrive in the past and meet people from that era and become embroiled in a mysterious incident.
As they delve into the case and get closer to the truth, an interfering force appears before them, extending its dark hand... Will Conan be able to safely rescue Dr. Agasa?
Our first destination is ancient Egypt, where construction of the pyramids is in full swing!
Were the pyramids a public project for the people?
The first destination of the 12-day time travel is ancient Egypt.
Time travelers Asahi, Ume, and their dog Taro, who are dropped into ancient Egypt while the pyramids are under construction, discover a boy struggling in the water and looking somewhat shabby.
The boy who doesn't even know how to say thank you even when someone saves him from drowning is none other than the Egyptian Pharaoh Nefer.
The young king, who hates studying and likes to go out and play, is always followed by his substitute 'Ji-i' and his guardian 'Niara'.
Asahi and Ume, along with Nefer, visit the construction site of the pyramids, one of the seven great mysteries of the world today.
They learn about the true nature of the pyramids and the wisdom of the ancient Egyptians who devised construction methods by observing the stars in the night sky, and they realize a new fact: the pyramids bring happiness to the Egyptians.
This is because the construction of pyramids was not a royal custom that took away the labor of the people, but a 'public project' that allowed poor farmers to work and obtain food during the rainy season when there was no work.
Find the treasures sleeping in the pyramid!
Decipher the ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs!
Asahi and Ume learn of the difficult financial situation of the ancient Egyptian kingdom hidden behind the splendid royal palace.
They, along with Nefer, decide to find a way to solve their financial problems and go in search of the treasure left behind by their ancestors.
The clue to where the treasure is hidden is the 'hieroglyph' that has been passed down from ancient times.
Hieroglyphs are the hieroglyphic characters used by the ancient Egyptians, and are also called 'sacred characters'.
Asahi and Ume discover the "Fruit of Wisdom" symbol on the hieroglyphs engraved on the stele, and are convinced that this is the key to solving both the problems of the Egyptian kingdom and Dr. Agatha.
Having successfully deciphered the hieroglyphs, they venture into the pyramid's dungeons. They ascend and descend stairs in dark passageways, avoid traps in a winding maze, and arrive at a certain chamber... Awaiting them is an unexpected betrayal, and yet another trap! A desperate escape strategy unfolds within the collapsing pyramid.
Will they be able to survive the 'Curse of the Royal Family', save the kingdom of Nepher, and find Dr. Agatha?
A building that mobilized 4,000 people every day for 23 years?
The mystery of the pyramid as huge as its size!
Volume 1 of World History Detective Conan, "The Great Pyramid Mystery," blends various historical events and truths surrounding the pyramids and ancient Egypt into a time travel story in search of Dr. Agatha.
The pyramid was built by approximately 4,000 workers every day for 23 years, and approximately 2.3 million stones were used.
The cost of building one pyramid in today's value is said to be around 1 trillion won, which gives an idea of the enormous scale of the construction.
The pyramids, boasting such a huge scale, were tombs where the ancient Egyptians, who believed in an afterlife, preserved the mummies of their dead kings, and the construction of the pyramids was a public project to provide wages to the people during a time when there was no farming.
Readers can learn more about the historical knowledge incorporated into the time travel story in the 'Conan's Mystery NOTE' corner.
It delves into the mysterious structure and design of the pyramids, which are hard to believe were built with ancient technology, as well as the truth behind the mystery surrounding the various gods believed in by the ancient Egyptians and the 'royal curse' surrounding Tutankhamun.
You can also learn about the Rosetta Stone and how to write names with hieroglyphs, which provide clues to understanding ancient Egyptian history, and tour various types of pyramids found around the world, including ancient Egypt.
