The constipated red rabbit 'Siluck' becomes a detective, and the chatty sparrow 'Soso' becomes his assistant. 'Shiluk', whose name is often confused with 'Sherlock', is not only a similar name, but he is also a famous detective who is just as skilled as Sherlock (no, even more so). However, he is often more famous for his 'Red Rabbit' than for his investigative skills. Because I have never seen a red rabbit, neither a white rabbit nor a black rabbit, it is rare. But in fact, Siluk is a white rabbit. Suffering from severe constipation, his entire body was red! The chatty assistant Soso witnessed Siluk's white skin firsthand. Strangely enough, before being assigned a case, he is a red rabbit, but once he solves the case, he poops and returns as a white rabbit. Usually, Soso is always talking nonstop, but when it comes to the fact that Siluk is a white rabbit, she is tight-lipped. Well, whether your body is red or white, I can guarantee you this much. Rabbit detective Shilluk and his assistant Soso solve stubborn cases with gusto! Now, leave your cases to Shilluk instead of Sherlock Holmes! He'll solve them with a refreshing and exhilarating solution. |

Publisher's Review
A world first! The constipated detective's brilliant exploits!
Siluk, the possessor of superior reasoning skills than Sherlock
The first volume of the ambitious series “Constipated Detective Siluk” by bestselling author Lee Na-young, who began her career by winning the Munhakdongne Children’s Literature Award for “Time Store,” has been published.
The story unfolds in an exciting way as the constipated red rabbit 'Silk' and his chatty sparrow assistant 'Soso' seamlessly solve the cases they are assigned with their detective skills that rival Sherlock's.
Constipated detective Siluk solves cases based on his own three detective principles: 'Look well, listen well, and sleep well!'
Seeing well doesn't simply mean having excellent eyesight.
(Of course, having good eyesight is advantageous for investigations.) Don't just pass over even the smallest things; look at them carefully, and look at things you've always seen with a new perspective.
Thanks to this, he is able to uncover the truth of the case by putting together each and every clue that others missed.
The suspects and witnesses each tell the story of the day as they saw it and in the way they believe it to be true, and Siluk listens attentively but does not get swayed.
Rather, it keenly captures the parts that do not fit the logic in the story of the ‘speaker’.
Young readers can truly learn to see and listen well by observing the investigative process of this Siluk.
And it also reminds us of the most important meaning of ‘sleeping well.’
As someone who suffers from constipation due to irritable bowel syndrome, Siluk knows better than anyone that a healthy and comfortable body is essential for both work and play.
If we put into practice the three detective principles of Detective Siluk: "Look well, listen well, and sleep well!" into our daily lives, our daily lives will become much healthier and more exciting.
The dangers of fake news, often portrayed in an easily understandable way, based on classic masterpieces.
Siluk and Soso go to Neunggeum Village to find the apple thief.
Famous for its delicious taste, the apples are not easy to obtain as only 100 boxes are sold per year.
There's a reason why only 100 boxes are sold.
The princess in the classic masterpiece, Snow White, collapsed after eating the 'Nunggeum apples' from 'Nunggeum Village', and the rumor that apples were the problem spread.
Although it was later announced that there was no problem with the apples, Neunggeum Village had already suffered a major blow, and the false rumors did not easily subside.
The author uses an interesting 8-panel cartoon to convey to children the serious problems that misinformation can cause in an easy-to-understand way.
In an age where the ability to discern between real and fake news is more important than ever, reading is the most effective way to develop that ability.
It would be perfect if it were an interesting detective story that could also develop one's reasoning skills.
Cute and vivid illustrations that add to the fun of mystery
"Constipated Detective Siluk" is a work full of fun to look at with its illustrations, and its lovely and vivid characters reminiscent of animation immediately capture the reader's attention.
As it is a detective story, artist Park So-yeon paid attention to details to create a realistic picture that allows viewers to enjoy the fun of finding clues in the picture.
Additionally, we focused on character expression to realistically convey what Siluk and Soso see, hear, and feel during the investigation.
Such elaborate drawings greatly enhance the pleasure of reasoning.
The cartoons that blend in with the text and the pictures that are presented with speech bubbles allow even young children who have difficulty reading to enjoy the pleasure of reading without any burden.
Recommended reviews
If Japan has the Butt Detective, Korea has the Constipation Detective Siluk.
A cuteness and unimaginable fun unlike any detective story! Highly recommended to friends and younger siblings.
I'm already looking forward to the next episode.
-Moon Jae-yoon, a child
A book where two people read together and one of them farts and faints without anyone noticing! It's so cute and fun.
I also see well, listen well, and sleep well, so I want to solve cases together with Detective Siluk in Neunggeum Village.
-Lee Ha-yoon, a child
'Siluk' is so cute that it makes me laugh out loud.
If only there were Siluk and Soso, it would seem that any problem could be solved.
-Child Choi Ga-yul
It was funny to see the rabbit detective's face turn white.
It's more fun than [Butt Detective].
-Nam Yoon-jae, a child
I hope the next volume will feature a story about pottery being stolen from a museum.
I wish volumes 2, 3, 4, and 5 would come out quickly.
-Kwon Taek-gyeom, a child
It was funny how Soso seemed so frugal in getting a discount on her tuition while she was busy with her investigation. I wish I had a sparrow assistant too.
But the story about the residents of Neunggeum Village moving to Ddaenggam Village was unpleasant.
I vowed not to get caught up in rumors.
-Moon Chae-won, child
It was funny to see the thief turn pale when he sees Siluk eating sunflower seed chocolate and thinks it's poop.
-Seo Yun-chae, a child
I wish Detective Siluk could live as a white rabbit every day.
Eat lots of vegetables! - Choi Hyun-woo, a child
