The story of Little Bear Piperun, which is sung like a personification of a little bear, is passed down by word of mouth among children and takes a deep place in people's hearts.
Piperoon, a lovable little bear who eats like a child and loves adventure, first appeared in the illustrations of Wim Beimour in 1953, and has since become an even more beloved character as the main character in picture books by many famous authors, including Jan Uter, Harry Heilen, and Noeller Smit.

Where is Little Bear Piperoon?
Are you playing in the park?
Do you play in the sand at the beach?
no.
I already looked there.
So you hid under the blanket?

In 2017, rising Dutch illustrator Fleur van der Wyl presents Piperun, a lovable little bear wearing a red checked hat.

The poetic rhythm of author Schmidt's book, with its soft and warm illustrations, brought to life, created a new chapter in the story of 'The Tale of the Little Bear Piperun', and won the Silver Brush Award (2018), the highest award for children's books in the Netherlands.
The story begins with a scene of Mama Bear and Papa Bear looking for a new home, and continues with a page without words showing the birth of a baby bear and the loving care they give to it. Piperun grows up to be a child who loves hide-and-seek and adventure, surrounded by the love of Mama Bear and Papa Bear.
The mischievous Piperoon gets into trouble by falling from a tree while stealing eggs and falling into an icy lake, but he grows up strong and courageous in the warm and safe world watched over by Mama Bear, Papa Bear, and his friends.
