Publisher's Review
Where does the strength of children to overcome the high wall of reality come from?

Author Kim Ryeo-ryeong, who created the 'Kim Ryeo-ryeong Syndrome' in the literary world by simultaneously winning the Ma Hae-song Literary Award, the Munhakdongne Children's Literature Award, and the Changbi Youth Literature Award, has published a new full-length children's story after three years from Munhak-kwa-Jiseongsa.
Kim Ryeo-ryeong, who has been publishing fairy tales, youth novels, and novels in succession since her outstanding debut, has received enthusiastic support and love from children, youth, and adult readers alike. In her latest work, “Guys Who Do Nothing,” she stares straight into the misfortunes facing children.
It depicts the healthy and cheerful image of teenagers finding happiness even in misfortunes that occurred regardless of their will, and sends heartfelt comfort and support to children who are suffering because of adults.

One day, Hyunseong, who faces reality without being discouraged and does his best in the time given to him despite the financial difficulties that suddenly hit his family, and Jangwoo, who ends up living in a complicated family relationship due to his mom and dad's divorce and remarriage.
Two children, each carrying a wound in their heart, become friends without hesitation, empathize with each other's pain, and develop a friendship without prejudice.
In a hideout that was incredibly shabby but that I decorated myself, I filmed a video of myself doing nothing for an hour in that hideout, which was incredibly boring, and uploaded it to YouTube!

Fortunately, the two children do not feel ashamed of being homeless and poor, of having two parents and another sibling in addition to their biological brother, nor do they consider it a great lack.
Looking at it through the eyes of an adult, it is infinitely sad and pitiful, but when Hyeonseong and Jangwoo are overcome by sadness and hate their mom and dad, they find the strength to overcome the hate and sadness on their own and find comfort and rest in it.
The laughter of these two children, who do not try to ignore or cover up their misfortune and do not lose their childish nature, is sometimes sad, but it is also extremely healthy.

As long as you have friends to play with, fun can be had anywhere!

Since the family, fooled by their uncle's lies, moved into a greenhouse in a flower garden that was about to be demolished, there hasn't been a single day of peace in Hyunseong's house.
Even if we call ourselves a family, there are only three of us: mom, dad, and Hyeonseong.
His dream of moving to a better apartment is shattered, but the kind-hearted Hyunseong regains his sparkling daily life in the old, run-down place.
All kinds of junk thrown away like trash in an old vinyl greenhouse become shabby but essential household items through the hands of Mom and Dad. Hyunseong, who has more time after transferring to a new school and quitting the academy he was attending after moving to the vinyl greenhouse, explores the eerie vinyl greenhouse that stands shoulder to shoulder with his own and looks around the neighborhood, adapting to life in the vinyl greenhouse.

Above all, what gives Hyunseong the greatest strength is that he has become close with Jangwoo, the only person who speaks to him first at his new school.
Jang-woo, who is in a complicated situation different from Hyun-seong's due to his parents' divorce and remarriage, explores the vinyl house he had been curious about thanks to Hyun-seong and finally creates a hideout where he can escape reality and spend time for himself.
Jang-woo and Hyeon-seong, who soon come to share the space, put down the heavy burden of reality for a moment in their own space.
Moreover, by uploading the really boring video 'Guys Who Do Nothing' that I made by chance with Jang Woo to YouTube, I have more things to do and more fun things to do, so I spend each day having fun.

I hope the kids don't spend time doing nothing!

As the number of views and comments on the video, which had been minimal, increased, Hyeonseong and Jangwoo uploaded the second and third videos following the first.
As I challenge myself to increase the time I spend doing nothing, I gradually begin to connect with the world that I had been forced to distance myself from because of adults and the environment.
As the children grow up, seeking solace, have the adults' circumstances improved? Have they become responsible adults? For Hyunseong, who has been forced to live in a greenhouse due to the greed of the adults, and for Jangwoo, whose family relationships have become more complicated and strained due to his parents' divorce for a better life, it's time for the adults to provide a strong support.
So that children can return to their normal daily lives.
