“This Christmas, Santa Claus is the main character!”
The story of Santa Claus's 'first Christmas'!

Once upon a time, Santa Claus didn't enjoy Christmas.
I've been busy making toys all year long.
On Christmas Eve, Grandpa flew around the world to give children one-of-a-kind toys.
Then I came back home and fell asleep right away.
Even on Christmas morning, nothing special happened to Grandpa.
It wasn't much different from any other day.
Except for sleeping about 30 minutes later than usual.

The North Pole friends were very concerned about Santa Claus, who had never fully enjoyed Christmas.
So let's all put our heads together and come up with a special plan to make Santa happy.
Just for Santa! The elves have prepared a delicious breakfast for Santa, who just woke up.
And then, as Santa Claus goes out to work, he stops him and suggests decorating the Christmas tree.

“How beautiful!” Grandpa exclaimed quietly as he gazed up at the Christmas tree that everyone had decorated together.
But… the amazing and wonderful things for Santa Claus don’t end here.
Santa Claus is enjoying Christmas for the first time! What kind of Christmas awaits him?

A Christmas miracle we create together!
A word of gratitude to those who work hard for the joy of all.

The streets were cleaned overnight, the table was set just in time, bullets were delivered… .
Behind many things we take for granted are the invisible efforts of many people.
Just like Santa Claus's efforts to spread the joy of Christmas.

Santa Claus works tirelessly all year round to bring joy to children around the world every Christmas.
As a result, I don't have time to enjoy Christmas.
But there are those around Santa Claus who remember his hard work.
I'm talking about our Arctic friends.
The North Pole friends make a wonderful Christmas plan for Grandpa, who has never fully enjoyed Christmas.
Because Santa Claus deserves to enjoy Christmas more than anyone else.
If it weren't for his North Pole friends, Santa might not be able to experience the miracle of Christmas even now.

《Santa's First Christmas》gives the name 'Santa' to the hard work of many people hidden behind many things we take for granted.
Come to think of it, there are so many Santas around us.
I hope this book will inspire children to think of all the Santas, appreciate their hard work, and share the joy of Christmas with them.
As Washington Irving said, 'Christmas is the season to light the fire of hospitality in the living room and the fire of love in the heart.'

Young picture book masters of our time
A magical Christmas from Mac Barnett and Sydney Smith!

The young picture book masters of our time, Mac Barnett and Sydney Smith, meet.
The picture book that these two masters have collaborated on is a wonderful 'Christmas gift' in itself.
《Santa's First Christmas》 is a work of two masters who have won numerous awards for outstanding picture books, including the Hans Christian Andersen Medal, the Caldecott Medal, and the Boston Globe-Horn Book Award. It brings a pleasant sense of satisfaction while also conveying a message wrapped in sweet sugar that resonates deeply for a long time.

Mac Barnett brings his signature wit, humor, and imagination to create a Christmas story unlike any other for children and adults alike.
The innocent(?) appearance of the elves who had no idea about Santa Claus's Christmas until the polar bear raised the issue, and the innocent(?) appearance of Santa Claus who looks at the cream on the cookies like a child, will keep a smile on your face the whole time you watch.
Moreover, the bright and warm light captured in the paintings of Sydney Smith, a seeker of light who draws the light within us, fills the hearts of readers with light as well.
We hope that the Christmas miracle created by these two masters will last a long time in our hearts.
