"Mother-of-pearl Grandmother" is a heartwarming story about a mother-of-pearl grandmother who appears to a child who has been spending all day alone at home, offering heartfelt comfort and soothing his burning heart.
The child's desperation to have someone understand his feelings reaches Grandma Jagaejang, and the two quickly become close, like a grandmother and her grandchild.
When the child says he wants to go to a Taekwondo academy, Grandma Jang takes him to the land of mother-of-pearl to find peach pits (=treasure).
The process of obtaining the peach pit (=treasure) is arduous and difficult to the point of taking one's breath away, but the two work together and soon arrive under a peach tree filled with a sweet fragrance.
