Book Introduction
A word from MD
A warm letter from the poet of wild flowers
A collection of essays by author Taeju Na, who has lived as a poet and elementary school teacher.
Among the lectures I gave while traveling around the country, I included some words I wanted to convey to the younger generation in particular.
Life is a series of trials and failures.
The wisdom to endure life without collapsing when times are tough was expressed in the poet's language.

“What is one thing you would like to pass on to the next generation?”

The next generation asks
“I keep losing confidence because I only see my own shortcomings.”

Na Tae-joo answers
“What raised me was the minor, the deficiency, and the lack.
When you picture yourself 10 years from now and keep moving forward without giving up
It will rather gift you a special life.”

The 50th topic of the humanities series 'Aureum', which asks celebrities from various fields what 'one thing they would like to pass on to the next generation' and contains their answers, is 'Wisdom that a wildflower poet imparts to the younger generation.'

Poet Tae-ju Na, widely known as the poet of wild flowers, delivers a message of hope and encouragement to teenagers and young people.
This book is a compilation of stories that poet Na Tae-ju wanted to share with the younger generation from the lectures he gave while traveling around the country.
Poet Na Tae-joo's writing, which speaks as if writing a letter, is full of wisdom for living in the world, based on the experiences and thoughts he has acquired over many years as a poet and teacher.
It contains warm advice on what studying, success, love, and happiness are, and how to approach life, along with 17 poems and related stories that will be helpful to the younger generation, including “Wildflowers.”

Above all, the message that poet Na Tae-ju wants to convey through this book is, as the title suggests, 'there is no major without minor.'
Poet Na Tae-ju himself calls his life a minor life.
He was always a lonely child, an outcast, and a self-made outcast.
So, he said he had a lot of thoughts, a lot of hesitation, and a lack of accomplishment and satisfaction.
But in the end, he says, it led him to a special life.
Poet Na Tae-joo emphasizes that anyone can live a successful and happy life if they keep moving forward without giving up, imagining themselves in 10 years.

Into the book
Love letter.
Love letter.
What do you write? I write about a beautiful heart, a loving heart, a fluttering heart, a longing heart, and a good heart.
That's the material.
How else do you write? I try to choose the prettiest words possible and write them with care.
I will do my best to write in a way that pleases the other person.
Yes, that's right.
I think so too.
Poetry is something that is written to win the other person's heart over to your side.
--- pp.20-21

As Goethe advised, you must first decide your direction and live accordingly.
Even if it's a little late, you should try to find the life you truly want.
And I don't think there's any need to be overly concerned with other people's lives.
After all, my life is my life.
--- pp.60-61

That's the same with our lives.
Nothing good ever happens without trials or hardships.
If you truly want to be successful, you must endure trials and tribulations.
It is not something to be overlooked or avoided.
We must face it head on and overcome it.
Just like those grasses and trees bloom their pretty flowers only after passing through the tunnel of winter.
--- pp.68-69

After all, a turning point is different from a U-turn.
If a U-turn is about turning around and returning from the path you were on, a turning point is a chance to open a new path while continuing on the path you were on.
The path that a turning point opens up is a path that is new and unfamiliar, and therefore a dazzling and surprising path.
Everyone will find new life and blessings along the way.
--- p.72

There is no word in our language as beautiful as the word love.
When I say “love, love” out loud, my heart warms up and I feel like I’m becoming brighter.
love.
I guess it's something we have to live close to.
They say that the best and deepest form of love is to be patient, wait, and sometimes give in.
--- p.80

There is no car.
The apartment I live in is an old apartment in the outskirts that was built over 30 years ago.
He is an old man and has some illnesses.
But there is no reason for me to be unhappy because of that.
It is a great pleasure for me to write this long letter to you.
If so, then I am already a happy person.
--- p.84

Even kids know.
If you ask me what the most moving line in the poem “Wildflowers” is, I will immediately answer, “You too.”
Of course, it wasn't something we discussed in advance.
I feel it in places like this too.
Humans have a soul, and the sentences of poetry are conveyed along the path of that soul without explanation or connection.
--- p.138

happiness.
It is not objective, it is subjective.
In the end, you can only be happy if you feel and acknowledge that you are happy.
So, the way to become happy is very simple.
Just admit that you are a happy person.

Publisher's Review
The colder the winter weather, the colder it gets
Flowers that bloom in spring are gorgeous.

'If you look closely, it's pretty // If you look for a long time, it's lovely // You too.' Although it's a short poem of only 24 characters, poet Na Tae-joo's poem "Wildflowers" digs deep into our hearts and leaves a deep aftertaste.
The message that everyone is beautiful and lovable if you look closely and for a long time is a great comfort to us who live difficult lives every day and feel our own shortcomings, and gives us the courage to stand up again.
This book, “No Major Without Minor,” can also be said to be an extension of the message conveyed by the poem “Wildflower.”
We are all imperfect and we all live with our own shortcomings.
Poet Na Tae-ju, who calls his life a minor life, talks about how he was able to overcome his shortcomings and deficiencies in this book.

In Chapter 1, ‘The Stepping Stones of the Heart,’ poet Na Tae-ju briefly introduces his life.
It vividly depicts his life as a teacher and poet, his childhood that influenced him to become a poet, and his efforts to overcome a life of poverty.
Poet Na Tae-ju, who was short and small in stature from a young age, is said to have had an inferiority complex.
He says that in order to overcome and escape that inferiority complex, he had to have a unique perspective and put in effort, and that ultimately, it brought him a special life.
No matter how difficult and arduous life is today, I encourage you to find courage by thinking about the changed you will be in 10 years, the person you dream of becoming.

I bless your shining time
Please embrace your time

In Chapter 2, ‘The Stepping Stones of the Wind’ and Chapter 3, ‘The Stepping Stones of the Clouds’, poet Na Tae-ju delivers a message to the younger generation.
It provides useful life wisdom, such as what kind of mindset one should have when studying, what is desirable success, when there should be a turning point, and how to treat friends.
The book also mentions the minor and the deficient several times, which can be said to be the core themes of the book.
This does not mean that you should deliberately experience trials, hardships, or failures.
This is a saying that tells you to take note of things like this and gain courage when you experience something like this in life.
Above all, I urge you not to lose joy and pleasure in life, as they are important.

Chapter 4, ‘The Stepping Stones of Poetry’, contains 17 poems by poet Na Tae-ju, including “Grass Flowers,” “Gift,” “Epitaph,” and “I, You,” along with stories related to them.
He said that one way to calm one's mind by keeping poetry close when one is feeling tired, depressed, or unhappy is to select and include poems that convey hope and encouragement, especially to teenagers and young adults.
In addition, there are two more poems included. The opening poem, “I Bless Your Time,” advises us to embrace our time, saying that the most frightening thing in the world is time, and the closing poem, “Following the example of Mother’s words,” makes us think about how we should live.

The titles of each chapter all contain a stepping stone.
Poet Na Tae-joo named this book "Jinggeomdari" in the hope that it would serve as a medium to connect with the younger generation and allow them to share their experiences and thoughts.
Poet Na Tae-joo, who says he is happy to be able to write this book, which is like a long letter, says, “When I look at someone who has truly succeeded in a certain field or has achieved fame, I see that he or she had a tearful period in the minors.
“I think the time you spend is a time of minors and trials,” he said, sending his affectionate support.
