Museum of My Life

Where all time stays
The joy of sleeping thoughts awakens!

A busy daily life, no matter where you go or what you do.
Even though we entered exhibitions, art galleries, and museums to escape from our daily lives, we are busy here too.
Taking a certification shot with the artwork and the audience in the background, looking at other people's certification shots, learning about a new exhibition, going there and taking pictures with a similar background... ... , repeating endlessly.
It's absolutely right that art has become a little closer to our daily lives, but if it too becomes as busy as our daily lives, where should we turn?
《The Museum of Attraction: Where All Time Stops》 provides a wise answer to this foolish question.

Where all time stays
The joy of sleeping thoughts awakens!

Past, present, and future seen at a museum? Sparkling moments from individual daily lives!
A small museum where all time comes to life

The book highlights a space filled with paintings, sculptures, drafts and manuscripts of literary works, dolls, tokens of love and loss shared between ordinary people, and objects related to artists, people, and nature.
It is not physically large, does not have a large number of works, and is not famous.
Although they each have completely different appearances, they can be called the same space, that is, a 'museum', in that they are 'places where you can encounter the past, think deeply about the present, and gain insight to open up the future.'

Although the 24 authors visited different museums, they went through the same process of encountering their past, seeing the present, and thinking about the future.
Past, present, future.
It may seem grand and difficult, but it shows us that all these moments are sparkling moments in our personal lives, and that we can better capture those moments through museums.

As a child, museums were practically places of torture for me.
It was the same for both of them.
My parents tortured me by taking me to museums, and I tortured them by being stubbornly and steadfastly bored.
(19 Suffering Turns to Joy, p. 241)

I remember buying a postcard and a small monograph with his drawings on it during my college days.
I was completely captivated by Schiele's style, his bumpy, realistic elongated deformations, his unique distortions, and I spent two years trying to paint like him, and of course, I failed.
(Homage to Rudolf Leopold, p. 276)

It's okay if the past you encounter at the museum isn't pleasant.
Because that time existed, we know that certain works or objects, and that museum, are precious.
It also includes the process of how, how, and why you have changed over time, until you now know what you didn't know in the past.
What you see and feel is yourself.
Those who have gone through that process will live their future solely as themselves, following their own standards and what they consider valuable.

The album was donated by a woman whose first marriage was miserable but who found happiness in her second.
Thinking about these things made me feel more and more energetic.
These things told me this.
No matter how long and painful the transition may be, people can find their true selves and true love. (20 The Museum of Breakups, p. 258)

This was the first important lesson that taught me the power of manuscripts.
…what is meaningful is that by looking at the manuscript, you can see the date, the period, the pace of creation, and how the author rethought it, whether for the second or the tenth time.
…the magical thing is the idea that the writer's hand touched the blank page, that the writer's breath spread over it, and that in doing so, something immortal was born from nothing.
(21 Quiet Theater, p. 265)

A small museum tour of authors who have swept world literary awards!
A guide to your new beginning!

This book is a collection of manuscripts that were published under the title "Authors in Museums" in Intelligent Life, a sister publication of The Economist.
This book can be a "secret tutor" for anyone who has ever wandered around a museum, unsure of what to think or feel while viewing a work of art, or who has ever wanted to know how to receive inspiration and how to create art with that inspiration.
Man Booker Prize, Booker Prize, T.
It is up to the readers to decide whether the book is 'worth reading' as it was written by winners of world literary awards such as the S. Eliot Award and the Miles Franklin Award.

In recent years, the horizon of domestic cultural life has undergone great changes.
Many new and impressive exhibition spaces, such as art museums and galleries, have been created, and proactive policies are being implemented to provide free or discounted admission to cultural events on the last Wednesday of every month.
Art is no longer enjoyed by only a select few as it once was, but some people may still be ‘enjoying’ art, while others may still be ‘consuming’ it.
The reality is that no one can be free from the aforementioned quackery.

Fortunately, all it takes is a little bit of attention.
Museums make every effort to help visitors understand the works of art through docents, lectures, and seminars.
Although it has become lower than before, it is not uncommon to see cafes and spaces for events being set up to further lower the threshold.
It seems that all the necessary materials to solve the assignment are provided.

From now on, it's up to each individual.
It's a step forward to engrave the work on your heart, create a story, and share that story.
And when that place becomes a museum, we will be able to enjoy a different daily life and share a new future.
《The Museum of Attraction: Where All Time Stops》 will serve as a guide for that future.
When that chapter becomes a museum, we will be able to encounter the past, make today more meaningful, and look to the future.
This book will serve as a guide to creating such a future.
