This book details the process by which Korea grew into a global semiconductor powerhouse, focusing on Samsung Electronics.
This book is largely divided into two parts. Part 1 first introduces semiconductors in detail.
Although our country has grown into a semiconductor powerhouse, our people don't really know much about semiconductors.
This may be because books on semiconductors are rare and even those that are available are for experts.
Part 1 explains in detail what semiconductors are and how they are manufactured so that the general public can properly understand them.
Semiconductors, which have properties between conductors and insulators, are completed only after repeating dozens of microscopic processing steps, each one thousandth the size of a single strand of hair.
For this reason, semiconductor production workers wear white protective suits and female employees are not allowed to wear makeup.
Even fine dust can affect production.

Part 2, "This is how Samsung's semiconductor myth was written," analyzes the growth process and factors that led Samsung Electronics to become a semiconductor powerhouse.

This book is part of the "Korea's World Best" series, planned jointly by the National Academy of Engineering of Korea and Jiseongsa with support from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and follows "Steel Moves the World Silently," "Moving Living Spaces: Automobiles," and "Ships Carrying the Future: LNG Ships."
This series aims to select our products that have achieved leadership in the fiercely competitive global market, reveal the process by which they achieved this, and provide a glimpse into our future technologies.
Furthermore, by highlighting the tireless research and efforts of engineers from science and engineering fields who ushered in the era of $10,000 per capita income, we aim to encourage them to further accelerate toward the era of $20,000 per capita income.
If the recent aversion to science and engineering stems from overlooking their hard work, this series will likely contribute to encouraging young people to consider pursuing science and engineering. A CDMA terminal is also slated for release soon.
