When I think about how all those church temples are maintained and where all those seminarians are and what they are doing, I feel more despair than hope, more fear than optimism. I'm not the only one who worries.

The country has one of the lowest birth rates in the world due to short-sighted birth policies over the past 30 years, and the government has even declared a state of emergency. However, few people expect a rebound in the birth rate.
