Abide in me
Description
Book Introduction
“To be a person of Jesus is to be in Jesus!”
The reason why grace does not work in my life
It's not that Jesus doesn't exist, it's that we don't abide in Him.
Pastor Yoo Ki-seong's life of witnessing Jesus' journey and his message of spiritual awakening
The author has consistently emphasized that the answer to happiness in life is to look to Jesus who has come within you, obey Him, and walk with the Lord through the Jesus Companion Movement.
This book emphasizes the life of a "person of Jesus" who lives with Jesus by looking to Jesus 24 hours a day, opening his heart and embracing His mind, following the Lord's kingship, and obeying only the words He gives.
The author's sincere testimonies, which include the Lord's opening of his eyes to Jesus in the midst of the scriptures, his becoming completely one with the Lord, and his deep abiding in the Lord through the life of Jesus, have become the momentum of his life, are included before he retired from his pastoral ministry and Good Shepherd Church.
Jesus is now in me and with us.
As Jesus dwells in us, we too must now dwell in Jesus.
I hope that through this book, you will truly receive Jesus, your eyes will be opened to see the Lord, and you will experience the true joy and grace of abiding in Jesus.

Into the book
We say we believe in God too easily.
Do you truly believe in God? The difference between a real cedar tree and a fake one becomes apparent the moment it's cut down.
The more you cut a real sandalwood tree, the more its fragrance vibrates.
It is not usually possible to tell whether we truly believe in God or not.
Health, wealth, and one's own plans are revealed when they are taken, dropped, stolen, broken, and shattered.
If you trust God completely and rejoice even in these moments, you are truly a person who believes in God.
--- p.60
When we face difficulties, we think of Jesus.
The words "I need help" come out naturally.
If you say you have cancer, you will instantly become a person who prays at dawn.
But when the difficulties disappear and the problem is solved, thoughts of Jesus disappear.
You shouldn't live that kind of life.
Whether things are difficult or not, we need to look to the Lord consistently.
When that happens, your life is set to change.
--- p.111
Spiritual ups and downs happen to everyone.
It can't be absent.
The important thing is to keep the cycle of spiritual recovery short.
Those who try to look to Jesus 24 hours a day do not experience severe spiritual ups and downs, and their cycles of spiritual recovery also become shorter. They appear to be always joyful, pray without ceasing, and give thanks in all circumstances.
“Rejoice always!” is not a law, but a blessing found in Jesus.
--- p.138
An 'evil heart' is one that is not conscious of Jesus' presence.
When Jesus comes into your heart, your heart becomes soft, but if you don't believe that Jesus is with you, your heart becomes hard and you cannot respond to the Lord.
A normal and good state of mind is a 'soft mind'.
This is the heart where the Holy Spirit has come.
It is a heart that believes that Jesus is with us and looks to the Lord, and thus understands the Lord's words.
--- p.177
Don't be discouraged if you fail and fall.
The Lord uses failures in a greater way.
Peter denied Jesus three times and even cursed him.
Jesus raised up Peter and re-established him as a great apostle.
Our Lord is still able to do so today.
It is not I who does it, but the Lord.
He came into us and is with us 24 hours a day.
We really have to believe this.
All we have to do is to encourage one another daily so that our hearts do not become hardened before God.
--- p.186
Jesus is the one who knelt down to save us.
Jesus, though he was in the same nature as God, humbled himself by becoming like a man.
He is the one who obeyed us to the point of death, without leaving even 1% behind.
It's not just us who obey.
If we truly believe in such a Jesus, the very fact that we can give Him complete obedience is happiness.
We too, naturally, live a life of kneeling and worshipping before the Lord.
--- p.245
If you pray hard, but only with your own thoughts, you will fall into frustration in prayer.
Prayer is something that must be judged and decided in Jesus.
You may quit because it is too difficult, because the conditions are difficult, or because you do not gather well, but the decision must be made in Jesus.
It is Jesus who makes you pray.
So, more important than praying a lot is praying in the Lord and praying with the words the Lord gives.
--- p.262
The grace of God that has been poured out upon us is not lacking.
We must open our eyes to realize not the grace we will receive in the future, but the grace we have already received and the grace we are receiving now.
Please keep this in mind.
We are not people who will be blessed in the future, but people who have already received great blessings.
God has given us the unspeakable glory of His election, the unspeakable glory of His atonement, and the indescribable grace of the Holy Spirit. What more grace could God possibly bestow? When we realize this, we are in a normal state of grace, and true revival has arrived.
--- p.308
We are 'Jesus' people'.
The Apostle James said that even the devil believes in God and trembles in fear.
Therefore, we must not stop at simply ‘believing in Jesus.’
I am a person who dies and lives in Jesus, not just a person who believes in Jesus.
A Christian is someone who lives in Jesus and becomes one body with Jesus Christ by having Jesus live in him.

Publisher's Review
As Jesus dwells in us
We too must abide in Jesus.
The reason we become discouraged and spiritually dry is because we do not abide in the Lord.
The reason why revival is not happening now is not because the Lord is not present, but because we are living in ignorance of the Lord.
I thought there were people in the world who had Jesus in their hearts and people who did not.
So I challenged them to accept Jesus.
However, while doing pastoral work, I came to realize that the church is divided into those who know that Jesus lives in their hearts and those who do not.
The reason we do not enjoy the grace of the Lord who is still with us is because we do not know that we must abide in Jesus as He abides in us.
The reason we become discouraged, tempted, and spiritually withered is not because of circumstances or people.
Because they do not abide in the Lord Jesus.
That is why we must hold on to the Lord’s words, “Abide in me!”
And we must pray that the eyes of faith that look to the Lord will be opened.
I pray that this book will help open your eyes to the Lord.
