Rick Warren's Dream Life
Rick Warren's Dream Life
Description
Book Introduction
“If I give my life completely to God,
What can He do through my life?”

“A book of wisdom for dreamers!”
Highly recommended by Pastor Lee Dong-won, Oh Jeong-hyeon, Kang Jun-min, Ryu Ho-jun, and Lee Chan-su!

When your dreams change, your destiny changes.

As the resolution of a photo increases, the texture of the subject in the photo also changes.
When you are far away and blurry, details that you didn't notice come to life and you can even hear the subject's breath and voice.
Just as high-resolution images reveal new textures and details, clear dreams illuminate new perspectives and even change behavior.

We had a dream too.
When I first came to know the heart of the Lord and read God's providence and will through the Bible, I had the first thoughts and vision I had.
It was quite clear and vivid.
God's heart contained in the gospel was clearly within me as well.
But now that the dream that God had promised, which was so clear, has become blurred, he has become so busy taking care of himself.
Everything looked blurry and stuffy, just like when you have high myopia and don't have glasses.

When your thoughts change, the world changes.
Likewise, if your dreams change, your destiny changes.
It makes us imagine a better future and live a new life.
This book is not a theoretical book.
It is not a book that simply introduces plausible Bible verses.
This book is like a pair of glasses that increases the resolution of the blurred dreams within me.

This book, like a gift, summarizes the essence of how the “dreamers” found throughout the Bible received God’s calling and lived out their dreams, how they experienced frustration and failure, and how they were molded into people worthy of heaven and fit for the kingdom of God, based on his 40 years of pastoral experience.

Into the book
Most people are unaware of the important connection between dreaming and belief.
But those with deep faith have always been those who dream big.
Even though they were past their childhood, they never stopped dreaming.
The Bible is full of these adult dreamers.
Representative examples include Abraham, Joseph, Moses, Ruth, and Esther.
People with strong faith imagine what might happen if they trusted God a little more instead of settling for the status quo.

Great faith leads to big dreams.

Big dreams require big faith.

Here's a secret.
You may be more interested in realizing your dreams on earth, but God is more interested in developing your character to make you worthy of heaven.
Why is that? Because God has a long-term plan for you, a plan that extends far beyond your short time on earth.
God deals with you with a long-term perspective.
Look at your life in the light of eternity.
There is one thing you should keep in mind.

When you have a dream, how can you tell if it is from God or if it is something you have dreamed of yourself? (…) One way to know is to determine if the dream requires faith.
God's dreams will always require faith.
Such a dream is so big that you will never be able to achieve it on your own.
If you can achieve that dream alone.
You won't need faith.
A second way to know if a dream is from God is to determine whether the dream is consistent with God's Word.
He does not give you the dream of using business swindles to donate the profits to the church's building program.
God's dreams never conflict with God's words.

Ask yourself these questions right now:
Why did God place me on this earth? Why did He give me this special passion and ability at this time in history, placing me in this realm? If I completely surrender my life to God, what can He do through it? The meaning, purpose, and significance of life can be found in the answers to these questions.

Nothing happens until you start doing what you dream of.
I dare to challenge you to dream big for God.

At some point in your career, have you ever quit one job and found another, with nothing in between? It felt like being thrown 100 feet into the air, alone, with no safety net below.
In such a situation, if you give up the security of your previous life and don't hold on to the vision God wants for you, you will only end up shaking and going back in the same direction.
That doesn't mean it's completely back to normal.
You will be swayed lower and lower until you lose your elasticity and are barely able to hang on until you fall down.
Like an aerialist who had to step out of his comfort zone for a moment to get to the next level, you must decide to give up your sense of security to pursue your dreams.

When people pressure you to make a decision, it's okay to say, "I'll get back to you later."
Making quick decisions is not as important as making the 'right' decision.
And the right decisions must be based on the right information.
Here are the rules of life.
It's easier to get in than to get out.
Is it easier to get into debt than to pay it off? Is it easier to form a relationship than to break it? Is it easier to fill a schedule than to execute it? Absolutely.
That's why we need to calculate the cost.
Jesus said this:
“For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not first sit down and calculate the cost, to see whether he has enough to finish it? … Or what king, going out to make war against another king, does not first sit down and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet the one coming against him with twenty thousand?” (Luke 14:28, 31) Decisions have a price tag.
Every time you make a decision, you should ask yourself, “Is it worth it?”
(…) If there is no reason to reject, then in fact you do not need any faith at all.
Without faith it is impossible to please God.
When any need arises, God provides.
He wants you to depend on God.
Don't try to solve all the problems first.
Once you start moving, the answers start coming.

You should not pass through every open door you see.
You shouldn't try to seize every opportunity that comes your way.
You can't accept every job offer that comes your way.
You shouldn't meet everyone who asks you out on a date.
Whatever opportunity is given, we must ask ourselves if it is what God wants.
(…) life is not fair and sometimes it hurts.
This is a stark fact.
But how we react is entirely up to us.
We will either become better people or we will hold a grudge.
We will either grow further or give up on our dreams.
We will either become who God wants us to be or we will shrink and become hardened.
It is our choice.
What happens to you is not as important as what happens inside you.
Why? Because what happens to you is temporary, but what happens within you is eternal.
It has to do with your character, and your character is the only thing you will take with you into eternity.

From “How to Deal with Difficulties_ pp. 103, 107-108”

How do you react when dreams become nightmares? What do you do when life spirals out of control? Do you doubt God's love and wisdom? Do you question His character? Do you feel like God is some kind of cruel joker who gives you dreams and then destroys them? If so, you've reached the fifth stage of faith.
It is nothing but a dead end.
(…) Faith is not just saying that you believe in God.
Faith is living as you believe in God.
So the Bible says:
“So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead… But I will show you my faith by my works” (James 2:17-18).
What do you expect God to do in this situation? Perhaps you expect nothing from Him.
But God works in your life according to your expectations.
Jesus said, “According to your faith be it done to you” (Matthew 9:29).
What do you believe God will do?

When you reach a dead end_ pages 119, 131

Thanking God after something happens is literally gratitude.
But to thank God before anything happens is faith.
This is what Jesus and Abraham demonstrated, and this is the highest level of faith.
It is an act of believing in what God will do in the future and giving thanks to God in advance.

Publisher's Review
Those who have God's dream
He guides you according to your dreams

Even if you know the dream, walking that path is a completely different matter.
Even though I am used to watching top European soccer players play in international matches, playing as a player is a completely different matter.
In this book, the author organizes the “6-step roadmap of faith for dreamers,” which he discovered through personal experience and deep meditation on every corner of the Bible.

Step 1: Find God's dream for you (Dream).
Nothing happens until you dream.
When God wants to work in your life, He first gives you a dream and waits for you to accept it.
The author provides various questions and materials for reflection to help us find our dreams.
"Why did God place me on this earth? Why did He give me this special passion and ability at this time in history, placing me in this realm? If I give my life completely to God, what can He do through my life?" and so on.
The meaning, purpose, and significance of life can be found in the answers to these questions.

Step 2: Decide to take action.
You have to decide to pursue that dream! For every ten people who dream, only one will make the decision.
The only way to move forward in faith is to decide to take that risk.
Explains six biblical principles needed to make wise decisions.

Step 3: Be patient even if there are delays (Delays).
There is always a waiting period when pursuing a dream.
Why does God make me wait so long? Because He wants to refine me before working on my project.
The delay phase is intended to teach you to trust God and be patient with His timing.
Even if your dreams are delayed, you learn to keep walking.

Step 4: Dealing with Difficulties.
While waiting, you also face many problems.
Even when your dreams align with God's dreams, problems persist because God is refining your faith and character.
Explains what to do and what not to do when faced with a challenge.

Step 5, When you reach a dead end (Dead Ends).
At this point, a difficult situation deteriorates into an impossible one.
If you're at this stage, congratulations are in order.
The apostles also had such experiences.
God can bring us back to life even when we are emotionally dead.
He can revive a dead marriage.
He revives dead careers and breathes new life into all places where hope has died.

Step 6: Expect a helping hand (Deliverance).
In the end, God rescues us.
He performs miracles.
Provides a solution.
God delights in turning death on the cross into resurrection, despair into victory, and dead ends into deliverance.

The resolution of the dreams contained within us
Pastor Rick Warren's new book will definitely lift your spirits.

Rick Warren, as someone who has walked the path firsthand and as a life veteran, explains the difference between one's own dreams and the dreams God has given them, and how to pursue them.
It says that we can live as beings who embrace God's dream from an eternal perspective, rather than living with our noses buried in the world.
He exclaims with emotion that those who have a dream given by God are overflowing with infinite possibilities.
Those who embrace God's dream, not their own, will have stronger faith, greater courage, and richer imagination.
The horizon expands.
Your perspective broadens.
The reason becomes sharper.
You can focus your energy.
And 'always' learning something new about the wonders and glory of God.
Are you ready to do what God wants? He is the one who gives second chances.
He is the one who does new things.
Through this book, let us learn the wise path to dream the dreams God gives us and live them.
God's dream is waiting for you.
