Is Jesus my good shepherd?
Description
Book Introduction
“Die, I will only follow the Lord!!”
A Record of 10 Years of Walking with Jesus A life of following the shepherd's guidance as the Lord's sheep As I meditated on the Psalms, I came to believe in the Lord like David. Pastor Yoo Ki-seong's Confession: A Psalm Diary of Jesus' Journey 2 Jesus alone is our good shepherd! The author realized that the Psalms were a confession of faith and a diary of prayer, praise, and thanksgiving from those who walked closely with God, and he began the Jesus Walk Together Movement and continued to spread the Psalms. Each psalm challenges us specifically on how we should view the Lord and live. In particular, through the message of Psalm 23, which was preached over six sessions, the restoration of David's faith, "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want," is emphasized. We must thoroughly examine ourselves to see if we are still living by relying on many things other than God. Although he is the senior pastor of Good Shepherd Church, he goes beyond the level of relying on the pastor and emphasizes the faith of having only the Lord as the good shepherd, the faith of becoming a sheep of Jesus, and the faith of crucifying all other shepherds other than God and making only Jesus the master. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to experience more deeply how the Lord, the Good Shepherd, guides our lives. |

Into the book
David always wanted his heart to be given to God.
That's enough.
We can live like that too.
If you're worried, "Can my heart be a sacrifice to the Lord? Can I offer it as is?" Let go of that worry and embrace a heart that pleases the Lord.
From that moment on, history begins.
--- pp.79~80
If you pray like this and only end up with a lot of prayer topics for yourself, then this Bible may be a Bible of grace, but it is not your Bible.
Even if I believe in Jesus, why isn't Psalm 23 my word? It's because I didn't live my life relying solely on God, as David did.
David confessed, “The Lord is my shepherd,” but we do not have the same confession, “The Lord is my shepherd.”
--- p.143
The sheep have only one shepherd.
But we are not like that.
Our problem is that we try to live with multiple shepherds.
I believe in God.
But it's not just about believing in God.
I believe in the money I have, the people around me, my abilities, and my life experiences.
So there is no experience of “I will not lack anything.”
--- p.145
So, how does it feel to believe in Jesus as your shepherd? Simply put, it means clinging to Jesus and living your life to the death.
For sheep, the shepherd is their lifeline, their way, and their truth.
It's like living by following the shepherd around until you die.
If you always make sure that the shepherd is by your side, the sheep will soon find themselves in green pastures and near water where they can rest.
--- p.163
Do you feel Jesus' presence? Do you truly believe that Jesus is with you? If you don't, then the god of this world is confusing your mind.
If Jesus is clearly with you, but you can't feel or believe it, it's a serious problem.
--- p.169
Becoming a Christian does not simply require you to believe that Jesus died on the cross and was resurrected, but rather emphasizes that Jesus must become your shepherd.
Because I can overcome sin when I look to Jesus Christ, my shepherd who is with me.
--- p.193
Sheep do not sleep soundly because of the green pastures and calm streams.
Because the shepherd is by your side, you sleep in green pastures and by the gentle stream.
If there is no shepherd, no matter how green the pastures are or how calm the streams are, the sheep are in danger of death.
--- p.224
When problems arise, we do not wait for the Lord to solve them, and when difficulties arise, we do not look to the Lord.
They struggle to solve problems with their own methods and ideas.
It is a sheep without a shepherd.
When you believe that Jesus is your shepherd, you don't struggle to solve your problems.
The sheep's job is to always look only to the Lord, their shepherd.
Then the Lord will surely work.
--- p.245
You must be a person who can always look to the Lord so that you will not fall into any temptation.
You become a person who can never commit a sin.
God wants us to do that.
David is a witness to that for us.
That's enough.

Publisher's Review
Jesus, our good shepherd
An intimate journey through the Psalms?
As I studied Psalm 23, I realized clearly that Jesus is our good shepherd.
We must believe in Jesus as sheep follow their shepherd.
Many people want to live according to Jesus' guidance, but find it difficult to know how the Lord leads.
That's because we haven't truly lived as sheep all this time.
I feel like I have become one of Jesus' sheep only when I write in my diary every day, think of Jesus, and listen to Him.
I only want Jesus, Jesus alone is enough, and I only want to live as Jesus leads me.
You have truly become a sheep of Jesus.
I prayed that David's confession, "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want," would come true for me.
“I will live as the Lord’s sheep.
“Whether the Lord leads me to green pastures or to the valley of death, I will live only by following the Lord’s guidance, even to the point of death.”
