Find the answer from the beginning
Description
Book Introduction
Genesis, the Book of Religion that Should Be the Coordinates of Faith in This Era If creation is not the starting point of faith, Faith disappears without a trace. Professor Lee Eo-ryeong, who is considered one of Korea's leading intellectuals, said that although he has read the Bible a lot, 'creation' is one of the things he finds most difficult to believe. The author, who spent 25 years as a passionate journalist criticizing Christianity before coming to believe in Jesus, says it is a miracle to believe today in the creation story written by Moses 3,500 years ago. However, the author says that creation is the foundation of all faith and that Genesis is the first place in our faith. If the foundation is shaken, the things above it cannot be established. Likewise, after reading the first verse, faith has no place to find its way. Just as a lost child must return to the place where he or she was separated from his or her parents to find himself or herself, we all must return to God our Creator. Many believers are like ships adrift in the stormy seas of the coronavirus pandemic. What is needed at this time is the light of a lighthouse. Genesis is like a lighthouse. "Finding the Answer at the Beginning" is the first book in the "Pastor Jo Jeong-min's Genesis Magnifier" series, and shows how God writes the history of salvation through Genesis. The author uses his sharp insight and clear explanations to explain why the Bible begins with creation, what the Holy Spirit has to do with creation, what kind of beings humans are, why we need rest in our lives, why God told us not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil after creating it, how sin began and how to resolve it, and how we should live each day to walk with God like Enoch. Ultimately, the question of what it means to be human is connected to the answer to the question of Jesus' death and resurrection in Genesis. |

Into the book
When we acknowledge God's sovereignty, we are free from worry and anxiety.
Because we don't know, but God knows everything.
There are characteristics of people who adapt the fastest when they enter the workplace.
They ask questions, check and work on whatever is going on.
It is knowing that the sovereignty of work lies with the boss.
It is most important to confirm the will of the final decision maker.
The same goes for the path of faith.
We must learn to recognize God's sovereignty and ownership.
So, no matter what, the person who asks the Lord and confirms is the one who goes the fastest and most correctly.
--- p.27-28
Genesis is a book about beginnings.
The world began with God, and beginning means foundation.
Therefore, Genesis is a book that reveals the root of everything.
Even when you start a small program, there are default settings called default values.
The default value is the starting point and reference until the user sets a value.
If a problem arises, wouldn't restoring it to its default values solve the problem? Even small programs and machines have these default settings, so how much more so would God, who created the universe, have set default values? Genesis shows us what problems can arise when the world doesn't consider God as its foundation, and it also shows us how to resolve the problems that arise in the created world.
Only by acknowledging the default values set by God in the beginning can we have a place to return to when life breaks down.
Because all the secrets of life can only be solved by starting from God.
--- p.33-34
Why did you give us something we were told not to eat? Why not just create poison instead of making it? Why did you make it and mark it with a skull? Because you gave humans free will.
Free will is the will to choose.
Without the power to choose, what joy can there be? Choice and joy, freedom and joy, are inseparable.
Freedom always presupposes choice, and joy is always the product of choice.
Parents explain to their children who don't like to study what the consequences will be if they don't study.
Why explain? Because the child has a choice.
Also because I love children.
Because we love, we give you choices, and because we have choices, we teach you how to make the right choices.
When a child makes a good choice, both the child and the parent are happy.
--- p.108-109
Standing toward God is 'good', and standing toward oneself is 'not doing good'.
The question of goodness depends on one's relationship with God.
But Cain ignored the essence of the problem.
You must do good.
Not doing good is a sin.
We are sinners not because we commit sins, but because we do not do good.
The Bible refers to 'misdirection' as sin.
If your gaze is diverted from God and you are looking at yourself, that is sin.
What good deeds should we do? It doesn't simply mean living a good life.
It is good to turn your gaze from yourself to God every day.
--- p.183-184
Genesis 6:1-4 is one of the most controversial passages in the Bible.
Even among people who know the Bible a little, interpretations vary greatly.
The crux of the controversy, in a word, is how humanity deteriorated so rapidly.
The controversy begins with who the “sons of God” and the “daughters of men” refer to.
There is really no reason to get into this debate.
Even if we debate, it is impossible to reach a conclusion that everyone agrees with and is satisfied with.
More important than the various claims about who the “sons of God” and “daughters of men” are is the judgment of God that will come as a result of the Fall.

Publisher's Review
The starting point of everything must be ‘God’, not ‘me’.
Genesis is a book about beginnings.
Humans always want to make themselves the subject.
But the Bible is given by God.
The starting point of everything must be ‘God’, not ‘me’.
This book helped me lay the foundation of faith, allowing me to abandon the religious life in which I still long to be the master and to shift to a God-centered life in all areas of my life.
Believers who want to be first in the midst of a chaotic life, believers who still cannot overcome sin despite attending church, and readers who find it difficult to believe in creation will be able to understand the essence of faith contained in Genesis.
