A thin and beautiful paperback refurbished with a new sensibility
A welcome reading for those who have grown distant from books, a first encounter with a novel.

How can we help young people, increasingly detached from books, easily encounter literature? "First Encounter with Novels," a new novel reading series featuring lush illustrations and literary masterpieces, has garnered enthusiastic responses from readers since its first publication in 2017.
In 2020, we will present new editions, ‘First Encounter with a Novel: Care’ and ‘First Encounter with a Novel: Creativity’.
The care section is even more diverse, consisting of warm novels by Yoon Seong-hee, Pyo Myung-hee, and Park Yu-jin.

"Eyelids" is a new novel by author Yoon Seong-hee, who has been loved by critics and readers alike for her portrayal of the lives of ordinary people with a calm yet warm humor and delicate gaze.
The story unfolds with a touching story of loving conversations between family members who came to care for 'I', who had an unexpected accident, at my bedside.
In 『Sending a Dog』, author Pyo Myung-hee, winner of the Kwon Jeong-saeng Literary Award, tells a story about companion animals in a poignant yet calm manner.
Pets that live in the same space but live in a different time than us.
It beautifully captures the heart that sprouts when pets are present, asking questions about the responsibility and care required for living with them.
"Mungsephine" is a touching portrayal of the friendship between Tae-young, a middle school student who always feels lonely, and his nanny, Josephine, whom Tae-young calls "Mungsephine."
The author's ability to portray the discriminatory views toward immigrants in our society stands out, along with Tae-young's struggle to protect his only friend and mother, Myeongseopin.
'First Encounter with a Novel: Care' broadly explores the power of warm care, encompassing stories about family, friends, and even pets.
