A special message from Pastor Yoo Ki-seong!

“I was able to meet Jesus Christ in the seven words he spoke on the cross of suffering.
And it was so clear to me who Jesus was.”

This book contains seven sermons from the 'Cross Revival' held at Good Shepherd Church during Passion Week in 2018.
It deeply explores the seven last words of Jesus on the cross, exploring the themes of forgiveness, salvation, love, curses, suffering, faith, and victory.
The author also invites all readers to meet Jesus Christ on the cross.
Let us reflect on the meaning of the seven words spoken by the Lord in the midst of His extreme suffering, as He hung on the cross in such a miserable state.
In this book, the author invites all readers to encounter Jesus Christ crucified.
And it doesn't stop at simply meeting and knowing Jesus, it tells us what our cross is and why carrying that cross is a joy and a blessing.
Through these words of Jesus, spoken in the midst of extreme physical pain, we come to a clearer understanding of what is most important in the life of a saint.

Into the book
How is your daily life? Have you wanted to live well, to live uprightly, yet you've ruined it? Have you fallen into disarray? Despite all this, how can we come before the Lord again? It's because the Lord prayed to God, "Forgive them, for they don't know what they're doing."
By the grace of that forgiveness, we can come before the Lord again.
The Lord has given us a new day.
He tells us not to live like yesterday, but to live again.
He tells us to live together in holiness and godliness.
So I was granted a new day.
We all received this grace on the cross.
We must remember that the hope of a new life is given entirely because of the prayer Jesus said on the cross: “Father, forgive them.”
--- p.22

If you look closely at the saints, those who do not leave the cross until the end and stay close to the church until the end are the ones who carry the cross.
There are some people who feel sorry for themselves, thinking that if they had not come close to the church, they would not have carried such a cross.
At first, this seemed unfair.
But then I discovered that there is a secret gift that God gives to such saints.
There is a grace that only those who do not turn away from the cross of the Lord receive.
It is a special cross.
Are you unwilling to bear the cross? Then you should think about it.
How can we meet the Lord if we turn away from the cross? Carrying the cross may be difficult, but on the day we meet the Lord, all we will remember is the cross we carried.

--- p.69

There will come a day for all of us when everyone around us leaves.
Are you prepared for that time? Simply knowing that God is always with you isn't enough.
I really need to believe that you are with me.
We received this blessing from the cross.
We can no longer suffer such pain because the Lord was cursed on the cross while crying out, “My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?”
But we must continue to train ourselves to walk with Jesus.
We should not be lonely because we are with the Lord who has experienced deep loneliness and who truly comforts our loneliness.
We must learn to converse with the Lord and enjoy His presence.
This intimacy is not something that is experienced today just because you decided to do it today.
It is done through actual fellowship.
If you don't have this fellowship, you need to start right now.
--- p.104

Our answer is in Jesus, who takes responsibility for all our thirst.
That Jesus came to us as a river of living water.
So there is no problem that cannot be solved.
When we no longer thirst for ourselves but for the Lord, for the church, and for the people next to us, rivers of living water will surely overflow.
That is the life we enjoy in Jesus and it is the greatest blessing.
I hope you will believe that the Lord cried out on the cross, “I thirst,” and bore our hunger and thirst.
Please believe that He came to us and became a river of living water, giving His grace to those around Him.
We must now become disciples of Jesus Christ who thirst for God, for the world, and for others.
Then our lives, our families, our churches, and our country can all be set right.
--- p.124

The Apostle Peter said, “Receiving the end result of your faith is the salvation of your souls” (1 Peter 1:9).
When we come to know the ultimate goal of faith, that is, the existence of the soul, the destination of our life becomes clear.
You don't know what a precious blessing it is to have a clear destination in life.
It is salvation from all troubles.
Once your destination is clear, it doesn't matter if the road is narrow or rough.
Because you just have to go towards your destination.
You can take any path with peace of mind.
How miserable is a person without a destination? Yet, God has given us a clear destination on our life's journey.
We live various lives in this world, but ultimately the path we must take is the kingdom of God.
Jesus made it clear in his sixth statement.
Our lives change completely.
This is faith and this is the cross we must bear.
