Blessing of Departure
Blessing of Departure
Description
Book Introduction
How will you react to the command to “leave”?

Leaving is not giving up
This is the starting point of God's grace!
Faith is proven in departure.

Pastor Jin Jae-hyeok of Earth Village Church, after 9 years of ministry
A book that contains the reasons and vision for leaving for Kenya!
Pastor Jin Jae-hyuk of Global Village Church made a surprising and beautiful decision during the final sermon of the “Abraham Series” in September 2018.
Just as Abraham left with complete faith and obedience to God, he announced that he would finish his stable and comfortable ministry as a senior pastor and then leave to serve as a missionary in Kenya.
The author, who has been tight-lipped about the reasons for his resignation from the Global Church, describes in this book how blessed it is to follow Abraham's journey of faith, and also fully describes the reasons for his return to Kenya and his vision for ministry.

Abraham is often called the 'father of faith,' but his faith was always proven in times of departure.
Abraham obeyed God's command to "go" and moved from his familiarity, comfort, and ease to unfamiliarity, discomfort, and vagueness.
There were countless crises, difficulties, and trials along his journey of faith, but he learned to leave behind the things he had relied on and to live a life where he looked solely to and relied on God.
In this way, leaving means completely entrusting my life to God.
Also, leaving is not a sacrifice or giving up.
We can see through Abraham's life that 'calling' itself is a grace and 'departure' itself is a blessing.

Epilogue

Into the book
God tells Abraham to leave his country, his relatives, and his father's house.
My hometown is the mainland, the place where I am currently settled and living.
Relatives refers to all the human relationships I have.
My Father's house is my resting place.
He told me to leave my job, my relationships, everything familiar and comfortable, and go on an adventure of faith.
But why should you leave? Because if you don't leave, you can't change.
Because if you don't leave, you can't enter into God's work.
Because if we stay there, settled and comfortable, we cannot experience the work of God's grace.
Therefore, this departure is not a sacrifice or a renunciation.
Yes, because it is a departure towards the land of blessings.
Yes, because we live a blessed life in a blessed land, forming blessed relationships.

Abraham, by faith, left everything he had and set out on a journey, but he still had his own thoughts, his own wisdom, and his own methods.
This was clearly revealed when faced with the crisis of famine.
Instead of relying solely on God, they left the Promised Land and went down to Egypt to live there.
The school of faith is a place where we look to and rely solely on God, who provides everything.
It is still a place where Abraham, who has much self-righteousness, needs help.
God prepared Abraham for the school of faith so that he would have patience to perfection and not be lacking in anything.

Are you experiencing a famine in your life right now? Remember, it's time to enter the school of faith God has prepared for you.

Sodom and Gomorrah are cities that have nothing to do with Abraham.
But Abraham prayed for that city.
Abraham did not pray because he would suffer any harm due to the judgment of Sodom and Gomorrah.
Nor did he pray for Lot, who lived there.
Abraham prayed for Sodom and Gomorrah, places he had no interest in.
We call this kind of prayer intercession.
Abraham was a man of prayer.
Wherever Abraham went, he built an altar, offered sacrifices to God, and had deep fellowship with God.
But here Abraham's prayer is different from before.
If you have been praying for the blessings of yourself, your family, and your nation, here you are praying for people who have nothing to do with you.
The scope of prayer has been expanded.
The scope of prayer is the scope of maturity.
The scope of prayer is the scope of love.

While preparation is important, I believe it is even more important to be more sensitive to God's will for Kenya and the African land, to be obedient to it, and to move forward, as has been the case with previous ministries.
God is working harder than I am to paint the picture of my next ministry.

Abraham, who deserves to be called a warrior of God because of his life of great faith and devotion, was called a friend of God (James 2:23).
I want to take Abraham as a friend on my journey of faith.
And, with the hope that a blessed life is given through a journey of faith, and that those who walk that journey of faith today will certainly live a blessed life, let us walk together along the path that Abraham walked.

Publisher's Review
When you leave something you want to enjoy more of
Get closer to the glory of God.

The author, who took Abraham as a friend of faith and obeyed God's call, asks how we would respond to the command to "leave" in our personal lives.
And it makes us reflect on what is holding us back from taking the adventure of faith.
The author, who says that our departure is not only a departure from space but also from our own desires, says that we must leave behind what we want to enjoy more and achieve more, and move to a place where we cannot enjoy more and achieve more.
The more we stay away from the lusts of the flesh, the closer we get to the glory of God.

This book, which changes your perspective on 'leaving,' will challenge, comfort, and encourage believers who wish to fully obey God's calling and live as a channel of blessing.
