In the Lord, people change.
In the Lord, people change.
Description
Book Introduction
“Does believing in Jesus change a person?”
But when you look to the Lord, you will definitely change!

Many Christians do not believe that they can change.
I can't believe that my family will change.
I don't even believe that the church members will change.
It is not that we do not believe in ourselves, but that we do not believe in Jesus who will change us.
Can people truly change? And if they do, how? The eyes of faith must be opened to the Lord who is with us.
To believe that people change is not to trust them.
It is believing in Jesus who is with that person.

The Holy Spirit is the one who enables us to look to the Lord.
As we look to the Lord in the Holy Spirit, our faith in ourselves changes, our confessions change, we become obedient in everything, and ultimately, we bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit.
The character of Jesus is love, joy, peace, gentleness, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, patience, and self-control.
Therefore, anyone who dies and lives in Jesus through the grace of the cross will have a new nature.

Into the book
I thought people didn't change.
My personality didn't change, and I thought that even though I believed in Jesus, I would still believe in Jesus with the same personality.
But this is also faith.
Knowing that people don't change is also faith.
Because you think it won't change, it won't change.
If you think, ‘People can’t get rid of their personality’ or ‘They have to live with that personality’, then you will also find yourself limited in your ability to change.
People don't change, and we don't believe that others will change either, so we don't respond with faith, and so we end up living only seeing a completely unchanging situation.

But as I meditated on the fruit of the Holy Spirit, I thought, 'Ah, people change.
The very fact that you said it was the fruit of the Holy Spirit means that people change.
I see
I realized that the fruit of the Holy Spirit is an amazing promise from the Bible, saying, 'If you believe in Jesus, your personality will completely change.'
People change.
So when we see a person who has changed, we say, “The Lord did it!”
It's about a person who seems like he would never change, but has changed.
This very thing happens in Jesus.
p.24

To bear the fruit of the Spirit, which is love, we must first give up loving in our own way.
p.51

In fact, the person who is like a thorn in my side, the person who makes things difficult for me, the person who is like a real enemy, is a precious gift that God has sent to me.
It is a tool that allows us to bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit.
p.55

Joy is a very important sign that tells us whether we truly believe in Jesus or not.
If you believe in Jesus and still feel frustrated, there is definitely a problem.
Just as you should go to the hospital immediately if you have a fever or severe pain, if we lack joy, we should recognize that there is a spiritual problem and take spiritual measures.
p.70

We must keep in mind that if unity is the work of the Holy Spirit, division is the work of the devil.
You must not be fooled.
You may think you are doing the right thing by dividing, you may think you are doing it for the church, you may think you are doing it for the other person.
But, you must not be deceived here.
If the result is one, it is God's work; if it is divided and broken, it is the devil's work.
You really shouldn't be fooled.
p.97

“I can never be with that person.”
When problems like this arise, we really need to pray a lot.
You have to go into the words.
God has given us the ministry of reconciliation.
The church is one body.
On that basis, the church must go in the right direction.
We must be prepared to face criticism and attacks for our efforts to become one and unite.
p.101,102

Many believers, living by faith, ask, “How long must I endure?”
"Pastor, how long do you want me to endure this? I've endured it for so long! I can't wait any longer." If you say something like this, it means you've endured it on your own.
I tried my best and waited with all my might, but I reached a point where I couldn't wait any longer.
This is not the patience the Bible speaks of.
The fruit of the Spirit, patience, is to be patient and rejoice when we are tested.
p.123

“Why don’t I bear the fruit of the Spirit?” “Why doesn’t my character change?” There is only one reason why we don’t bear the fruit of the Spirit.
I'm not dead yet.
p.154

A weak person has no opinions or subjectivity of his own.
When the Lord tells me to do something, I just obey.
Conversely, there may be many reasons why you cannot obey, but if you do not obey, it is ultimately only proof of a strong ego.
It is so strong that even the Lord cannot do anything about it.
p.225

Self-control is a crucial element and a decisive evidence of all the fruits of the Spirit.
No matter how good something is, there is nothing good about it no matter how much you do it.
Exercise is good, but exercise addiction is not.
Exercising all day is actually a disease.
Even good things can become poisonous if not consumed in moderation.
If there is no moderation, it means that other spiritual forces are at work.
It is not only the bad things that should be abstained from.
Even good things require moderation.
Even love requires moderation.

Publisher's Review
It's my turn to change in the Lord.

We pray hard, receive the Holy Spirit, and dedicate ourselves diligently, but why doesn't our character, personality, or character change?
When we pray for someone to change but see them not change, or when we see ourselves not changing in some area, we unconsciously think and believe that 'people don't change.'
But the Bible says, 'If you are in Christ, you are new.'

This book focuses on the fruit of the Spirit, which is of interest to God, for those who are enthusiastic about the visible gifts of the Spirit but not interested in the invisible fruits of the Spirit.
Through Pastor Yoo Ki-seong of Good Shepherd Church, who has gained the conviction that "people change in the Lord" by striving to walk with the Lord 24 hours a day and clearly proclaims it through this book, we are opening our eyes wide and deeply to a new grace of the fruit of the Holy Spirit, which is the character seen in those who have believed in Jesus and whose temperament has changed.

The important thing about the fruits of the Holy Spirit is not to memorize their names or remember their order.
What really matters is that anyone who believes and confesses that their ego died on the cross, and abides in the Lord and obeys with the help of the Holy Spirit, is transformed into the character of Christ.
I recommend this to people who are diligent in their religious life but wonder why they don't change, people who don't seem to be changing much but really want to be like Jesus, or people who look at the people around them and get discouraged because they don't see them changing.
