Teacher Lee Seo-yoon's Elementary Chinese Character Vocabulary Calendar (Special Edition)
Description
Book Introduction
Complete your study habits with a more powerful Chinese character calendar that teaches both 'reading' and 'writing'!

『Teacher Lee Seo-yoon's Elementary Chinese Character Vocabulary 365』 is a calendar that selects 365 Chinese characters that children must know, teaches them how to use Chinese character vocabulary, and ultimately develops vocabulary and study habits.
We first show episodes of Chong Chong and his friends to arouse their interest in learning, and then naturally learn how Chinese character vocabulary is used in everyday life through the Chinese character vocabulary hidden in their dialogue.
Additionally, it is structured so that you can learn Chinese character vocabulary by encountering actual examples that appear in textbooks and the college entrance exam.

Full of elements that capture children's interest, such as unique characters and illustrations, challenges, and celebrity birthdays, our children can easily and enjoyably begin learning Chinese characters.
In particular, this special edition includes a ‘Elementary Essential Chinese Character Stroke Order Note to Memorize While Writing’ that reflects readers’ opinions.
In addition to reading Chinese characters while looking at the calendar, we have selected 100 characters whose shapes are essential to know and designed them so that you can write 4 characters a day.
Writing activities allow students to trace the basic structure of Chinese characters by hand, thereby developing a sense of writing and an understanding of character structure, rather than simply memorizing them.
By learning both reading and writing together, you will be able to further solidify your Chinese character skills.

I'd like to give this book to friends who lack vocabulary, friends who want to study Chinese characters without pressure, friends who want to develop good study habits, and parents who want to create fun conversations with their children every day.

Publisher's Review
Learn Chinese characters with your eyes every day using the calendar.
If you write 4 characters a day yourself
Our children's studies become easier!

1.
Learn Chinese character vocabulary easily and enjoyably with this 3-step, meaning-centered learning!

Since more than 50% of our vocabulary consists of Chinese characters, knowing even a little Chinese characters is beneficial for increasing your vocabulary.
However, unlike our language, Chinese characters are difficult to understand and contain a lot of characters. Therefore, if we ask children to study Chinese characters, they will only memorize easy characters like 'day (日)' and 'month (月)', and will quickly become exhausted when they come across difficult characters.
This book is designed to help you study Chinese characters in a new way, rather than just memorizing them.
This is the ‘3-step meaning-centered Chinese character vocabulary learning.’

First, step 1 is to know the sound and meaning of the Chinese characters accurately.
Step 2 is to learn unfamiliar Chinese character vocabulary that is a little more advanced than the frequently used or familiar Chinese character vocabulary.
The final third step is to use the Chinese character vocabulary to create sentences on your own.
Although this book is in the form of a calendar, it is structured in three steps so that you can study Chinese characters naturally and without getting bored.

2.
A unique daily calendar that includes 1 essential Chinese character per day, 1,460 vocabulary words, and even sentences for school subjects and the CSAT.

So, among the countless Chinese characters, which ones should children know? Teacher Lee Seo-yoon devoted considerable time and effort to selecting the characters to be included in the calendar.
We compiled all the 1,800 basic Chinese characters designated by the Ministry of Education, the Korean Language Proficiency Test, and the Chinese characters that frequently appear in textbooks and the College Scholastic Ability Test, and selected 365 characters based on ① characters with high frequency of use and wide range, ② characters with high word control, and ③ characters that are appropriate for the learner's developmental stage.
Word control refers to the power to create words, and Chinese characters with excellent word control allow you to easily learn the meaning of multiple words by learning just one character.
For example, if you know just one character, ‘生 (生)’, you can easily infer the meaning of ‘life form’, ‘birthday’, and ‘producer’.

Since each day contains one of these specially selected essential Chinese characters, and four Chinese character vocabulary words composed of these Chinese characters, the calendar contains a total of 1,460 Chinese character vocabulary words.
The sentences containing Chinese characters were personally selected by teacher Lee Seo-yoon from textbooks and the CSAT, so children can acquire more vocabulary than other children their age through this calendar and it can also help them with their schoolwork.

3.
A fun calendar that children can find and read on their own, including comics, challenges, and celebrity birthdays.

The calendar features innocent and cute friends such as Chong Chong, Mimi, Myeong Myeong, and Sim Shim.
Chinese character vocabulary is hidden in friends' conversations, and it first shows situations in which familiar Chinese character vocabulary is used in everyday life, which stimulates interest in learning.
This book also contains special 'challenges' hidden throughout.
The 14th of every month is designated as 'Challenge Day', such as 'Diary Day', 'Friend Day', and 'Water Saving Day', so that children looking at the calendar can feel a sense of accomplishment by doing something on their own on this day.
In addition to the regular challenge day on the 14th of each month, there are also special environmental challenges hidden throughout the day, so check out the calendar to see what they are.
We also included birthdays of people that all children would know.
Check out famous people born on that day, month, and year, such as Yu Gwan-sun, Bill Gates, and Dostoevsky, and find someone with the same birthday as you.
Unlike other calendars, this one is full of elements that will pique children's interest, allowing them to discover and read on their own.

4.
Increase the effectiveness of your Chinese character learning with the 'Elementary Essential Chinese Character Stroke Order Notebook for Memorizing While Writing'!

Among readers who have been consistently looking at the Chinese character calendar, there have been many requests such as, “I want to know the stroke order,” and “I wish there was a space where I could write it myself.”
This special edition reflects these opinions and includes a new 'Elementary Essential Chinese Character Stroke Order Note for Memorizing While Writing'.
Among the 365 characters of the calendar, we have carefully selected 100 basic Chinese characters that you should definitely know.
We designed it so that children can write Chinese characters naturally by applying an arrangement that gradually increases the difficulty from Chinese characters with fewer strokes to Chinese characters with more strokes.
It is structured so that you can write just 4 characters a day, so you can continue steadily without any burden, and you will be able to complete 100 characters in 25 days (about a month).
The process of learning the order of strokes and the structure of letters by not just reading Chinese characters but also writing them out with your own hands will be intertwined with the 'reading learning' of the daily calendar, and will help develop a sense of the structure of Chinese characters and the ability to retain memory.

5.
A calendar that helps both children and parents form good habits

If children are forced to spend long hours studying, they will grow up to dislike studying and become distant from their parents.
However, this calendar can be placed on a table or desk at home and easily read by parents and children.
Each page is filled with elements that children will find fun, so you can't help but look forward to the next page, and learning Chinese characters is a bonus.
Parents also participate in their children's studies by looking at the calendar and introducing new vocabulary to their children.
By naturally turning one page of the calendar every day, both children and parents will develop good habits and experience easier studying each day.
