Learn Chinese character vocabulary easily and enjoyably with this 3-step, meaning-centered learning!

Since more than 50% of our vocabulary consists of Chinese characters, knowing even a little Chinese characters is beneficial for increasing your vocabulary.
However, unlike our language, Chinese characters are difficult to understand and contain a lot of characters. Therefore, if we ask children to study Chinese characters, they will only memorize easy characters like 'day (日)' and 'month (月)', and will quickly become exhausted when they come across difficult characters.
This book is designed to help you study Chinese characters in a new way, rather than just memorizing them.
This is the ‘3-step meaning-centered Chinese character vocabulary learning.’


First, step 1 is to know the sound and meaning of the Chinese characters accurately.
Step 2 is to learn unfamiliar Chinese character vocabulary that is a little more advanced than the frequently used or familiar Chinese character vocabulary.
The final third step is to use the Chinese character vocabulary to create sentences on your own.
Although this book is in the form of a calendar, it is structured in three steps so that you can study Chinese characters naturally and without getting bored.

A unique daily calendar that includes 1 essential Chinese character per day, 1,460 vocabulary words, and even sentences for school subjects and the CSAT.

So, among the countless Chinese characters, which ones should children know? Teacher Lee Seo-yoon devoted considerable time and effort to selecting the characters to be included in the calendar.
We compiled all the 1,800 basic Chinese characters designated by the Ministry of Education, the Korean Language Proficiency Test, and the Chinese characters that frequently appear in textbooks and the College Scholastic Ability Test, and selected 365 characters based on ① characters with high frequency of use and wide range, ② characters with high word control, and ③ characters that are appropriate for the learner's developmental stage.
Word control refers to the power to create words, and Chinese characters with excellent word control allow you to easily learn the meaning of multiple words by learning just one character.
For example, if you know just one character, ‘生 (生)’, you can easily infer the meaning of ‘life form’, ‘birthday’, and ‘producer’.


Since each day contains one of these specially selected essential Chinese characters, and four Chinese character vocabulary words composed of these Chinese characters, the calendar contains a total of 1,460 Chinese character vocabulary words.
The sentences containing Chinese characters were personally selected by teacher Lee Seo-yoon from textbooks and the CSAT, so children can acquire more vocabulary than other children their age through this calendar and it can also help them with their schoolwork.

A fun calendar that children can find and read on their own, including comics, challenges, and celebrity birthdays.

The calendar features innocent and cute friends such as Chong Chong, Mimi, Myeong Myeong, and Sim Shim.
Chinese character vocabulary is hidden in friends' conversations, and it first shows situations in which familiar Chinese character vocabulary is used in everyday life, which stimulates interest in learning.
This book also contains special 'challenges' hidden throughout.
The 14th of every month is designated as 'Challenge Day', such as 'Diary Day', 'Friend Day', and 'Water Saving Day', so that children looking at the calendar can feel a sense of accomplishment by doing something on their own on this day.
