Into the book
In the early days of our marriage, we were obsessed with 'making our home look good'.
I chose a pretty storage box and organized my items by matching them with similar colors.
I wanted to look good to guests who came to my house, and I wanted to hear them say, "You're a good housekeeper." I felt proud of myself for organizing and tidying up just like I saw on TV and social media, but at some point, I had this thought.
“It’s pretty, but why is it so uncomfortable?” From then on, I decided to completely change the direction of my life.
Now, I think about 'living life' rather than 'visible life'.
No matter how nicely you organize, if your life is uncomfortable, it won't last long.
If you put something in a drawer and it keeps turning up in a different place, that drawer is not 'in its rightful place'.
So I always say this.
“The end of organization is not ‘beauty,’ but ‘comfort.’
The key to living is not ‘what is visible,’ but creating a ‘sustainable lifestyle.’ Living is the systematic planning of my life so that I can live my life as myself.
