Real London
Description
Book Introduction
Slow down, go deeper, and discover the real London.
Written by a travel writer with 15 years of experience, walking and staying there
A London guidebook packed with both emotion and practicality.
Big Ben, the clock tower that symbolizes Britain, the London Eye, a Ferris wheel standing tall on the banks of the Thames, and King's Cross Station, a mecca for Harry Potter fans.
When you think of a trip to London, everyone thinks of the city's iconic landmarks.
But London's face is much more colorful.
Modern architecture and street art coexist on historic streets, and museums and galleries permeate everyday life.
With so many landmarks intertwining past and present, everyday life and art, scattered throughout the city, it can be overwhelming for travelers to know where to begin.
The author, a travel writer with 15 years of experience, also had to turn back when he first decided to travel to London during his college years without experiencing even 1/100th of the city's charm.
This is because a short package tour is not enough to understand London, a city with a vast history and diverse culture.
The author, who returned to London several times to make up for the disappointment of his first trip, gradually came to understand the true nature of London while staying in the city and walking, eating, and resting.
And based on this experience, I wrote a proper guide to London with the hope that more travelers would experience the 'real London'.
《Real London》, which the author completed through hard work, is a comprehensive guidebook that combines both sensibility and practicality.
It provides transportation information that travelers are most curious about, as well as an actual map of the complex city of London divided into seven areas.
We've organized the local atmosphere, key attractions, and recommended courses into an easy-to-view format so even first-time visitors can check the entire route.
It also provides a wealth of themed travel tips, allowing you to explore London according to your interests, including art galleries, architecture, markets, football, and local brands.
With this book, which is generously filled with the author's commentary and useful tips that add depth to your trip, anyone can experience the true charm of London with just 100 percent of it.

Publisher's Review
Emotion and practicality, two birds with one stone in one book
The Complete London Guidebook by a Travel Writer with 15 Years of Experience
London is a much larger and more complex city than you might think.
Along the River Thames, the city is dotted with world-class museums and art galleries, historic royal buildings, streets imbued with traces of the Hundred Years' War and the Industrial Revolution, and art and cultural attractions, layered like a pie filled with filling.
《Real London》 provides travel directions with accurate information based on field reports and a friendly format to help travelers avoid getting lost in London, a city filled with dazzling landmarks.
This book provides a wealth of information on London's hidden neighborhoods that have emerged as new hot spots, how to find the works of artist Banksy, tips and know-how for enjoying local markets and restaurants more deeply, and a list of the most popular cafes right now.
Breaking away from tourist-centric guidebooks, this book contains the emotional travel tips and practical know-how of a travel writer with 15 years of experience, accumulated through walking and staying in London. It will serve as a reliable companion for travelers who want to design their own London trip, rather than just a superficial one.
Enjoy themed experiences according to your taste
A wide range of themed tours to maximize your choices
The purpose of travel is different for each person.
Some people want to take advantage of their short break during a business trip to see the sights in a short but intense way, some plan to travel with their children, and some just want to take their time with a backpack.
《Real London》 offers a variety of themed tours tailored to each traveler's preferences, schedule, season, and companions.
We offer customized attractions tailored to your travel goals, including art tours centered around museums and art galleries, street performances and bookstore explorations, delicious fish and chips or English breakfasts, Cinematic London, where you can visit film locations, and even a Kids Zone for children.
In addition, it is designed to allow you to discover a different side of London through various topics such as architecture, shopping, gastronomy, musicals, and football.
Rather than simply following a set itinerary, the strength of "Real London" lies in providing travelers with a wealth of options and helping them create their own "own London trip."
London's most famous moments captured in a flash
Real London scenes captured in photos
《Real London》 captures the everyday life of London in photographs that seem like a scene from a movie.
From a quiet afternoon in a gallery nestled within a park, to the feel of old books lining the shelves of a local bookstore, to Banksy's graffiti adorning the streets, to the warm smell of bread wafting from Borough Market, each and every photograph in the book captures the local atmosphere and temperature.
The book contains only the finest cuts from the thousands of photos the author personally took while walking and staying, so just turning the pages feels like the journey has begun.
You can get a sneak peek of London's scenery by capturing the most beautiful moments from each region and creating a rich pictorial page.
It is extremely useful for those who want to travel emotionally, as it thoroughly introduces famous photo spots, hidden photo zones, and tips for taking good photos, tailored to the traveler's perspective.
If you diligently press the shutter as instructed in the book, you will soon have your own London travel album completed.
A bird's-eye view of the complex city of London
A Complete Guide to London's Seven Districts
《Real London》 divides the notoriously complex city of London into seven zones to help you navigate itineraries efficiently, and includes actual maps and recommended courses for each area.
You can check at a glance the description of the local characteristics and travel methods, as well as the transportation method and time required.
The map shows the locations of major subway stations, landmarks, shopping spots, and restaurants, and scanning the QR code provided on the map will take you to Google Maps.
The strength of this book is that it goes beyond simply listing information and fosters the reader's ability to create their own 'own route.'
Additionally, representative landmarks such as Tate Britain, the British Museum, the National Gallery, Covent Garden, and Borough Market are introduced in more depth through separate 'Real Guide' pages.
It helps travelers enjoy a more fulfilling trip by providing information on efficient viewing routes, must-see key works, and viewing tips.
Another attraction outside London
A Guide to Local Delights You Can't Miss
Just a short train or bus ride outside of central London reveals a suburban destination with a completely different vibe.
Brighton, a coastal city in southeast England, and the Seven Sisters with its beautiful white cliffs, Oxford, one of the world's best university cities, the Cotswolds, a rural village where time seems to have stopped, Cambridge with its quaint colleges and the River Cam, Bath, a city with a mix of ancient Roman ruins and Georgian architecture, Stonehenge, a mysterious historical site in England, and the Harry Potter Studios, where the actual movies were filmed.
《Real London》 also introduces representative nearby tourist destinations that are perfect for a day trip or a one-night, two-day trip.
We provide transportation options, travel times, routes, and booking tips based on departures from London, and we've included recommended routes so you can see at a glance how to get around each region most efficiently.
The intuitive layout allows travelers to flexibly plan their route according to their schedule.
From travel preparation to departure
A Realistic Guide to the Perfect London Trip
《Real London》 provides a step-by-step guide to everything you need to know, from preparing for your trip to departure.
In particular, it faithfully contains information on the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system that came into effect in January 2025, making it the most timely guidebook available at this point in time.
In addition, we have compiled a selection of the most frequently asked-about information for travelers, including a comparison of overseas communication services that can affect the quality of your trip, smartphone apps that enhance the convenience of your trip, popular tickets and tour programs that require early reservation, recommended areas for accommodation, and tips for saving money in expensive London.
In particular, the 'Recommended Travel Courses by Schedule and Theme' included at the end of the book is designed to help travelers easily plan their trips according to their schedule and purpose.
Faster than a search, more accurate than a video, and ready to read anytime, anywhere, "Real London" will be a reliable guide for both beginners and experienced travelers.
