Book Introduction
I started a historical war with pro-Japanese traitors.
The historical war against them is now my duty and an expression of my patriotism.
The New Right began to distort history and shake the identity of the Republic of Korea.
They glorify the Japanese colonial period through the theory of colonial modernization and denigrate independence activists by portraying Kim Gu as a terrorist.
In addition, they distort the Jeju April 3 Incident and the May 18 Gwangju Democratization Movement and idolize Syngman Rhee and Park Chung-hee.
Their distortion of history was successful.
The heads of all major historical organizations under the Yoon Seok-yeol administration are New Right members.
Young people who have not been properly educated about history come across false historical information on YouTube and online communities and accept it as fact.
South Korea is currently facing a crisis in its perception of history.
The distortion of history by pro-Japanese traitors and pro-dictatorship forces is shaking the nation's identity and seriously impacting the formation of future generations' values.
Author Hwang Hyeon-pil has been fighting against these people on the front lines of history.
And through this book, I have uncovered the New Right's historical distortions one by one, exposed their lies, and completed the task of revealing the truth.
I hope this book will serve as a guide for progressives, helping them preserve the identity of the Republic of Korea and pass on a correct history to future generations.

In conclusion, without the efforts of our independence activists, our independence would not have been promised by the international community.
If that had been the case, even if Japan had been defeated, our immediate independence might have been difficult.
Rather, after Japan's defeat, it may have been lumped together with Japan and treated as a defeated nation and a war criminal nation.

Although the April 3 Incident began before the establishment of the Republic of Korea government, the massacre began in earnest after the establishment of the Republic of Korea government.
Among the 14,442 victims of the April 3 Incident announced by the Jeju April 3 Committee, the number of deaths during the US military government was less than 1,000, while the number of deaths after the South Korean government took office exceeded 13,000.
So many civilians died because of a mere 350 armed men.
The massacre of civilians was carried out by the military, land police, and the Northwest Youth League.
The first president, Syngman Rhee, was the one who had command over the military and police.
Syngman Rhee clearly stated this at the State Council meeting on January 21, 1949.
“We demand that the aftermath of the Jeju Island and Yeosu-Suncheon incidents be completely eradicated and that the local thieves, traitors, and other villains be suppressed with harsh methods to demonstrate the dignity of the law.” Syngman Rhee described the Jeju Island residents as villains and ordered that they be suppressed with harsh methods.
Don't label the elderly and children who were innocently sacrificed in Jeju as communists in defense of Syngman Rhee.

Roh Moo-hyun and Lee Jae-myung are not from Jeolla Province.
Their hometown, ironically, is Gyeongsang Province.
Honam has shown an advanced political awareness that allows it to support politicians from Gyeongsang Province regardless of their origins, as long as they share the pain of Gwangju and have a correct view of history.
If the Honam region's overwhelming votes were a result of negative regional sentiment, how could they have gone to a candidate from Gyeongsang Province?
