I am a former middle school music teacher and currently working as an elementary school teacher.
I consider myself an "early adopter of educational IT products." I enjoy experiencing new technologies and quickly implementing them in the classroom.
Our educational landscape is changing at an astonishing pace.
It's very different now from when I was a student and when I was a new teacher.
There's something I've been thinking about lately while giving a lot of lectures on edutech.
While many teachers are enthusiastic about new technologies, there are also a significant number who are hesitant about adopting new technologies, harbor vague fears, or simply refuse to use them.
Every time this happens, I wonder, 'Was there really such a fear and excitement about new technologies in the past?'
Driven by this curiosity, today I'd like to explore the history and present of educational technology with you.

Looking back at the evolution of educational technology is like taking a trip back in time.
What innovative technologies were introduced into education in the past? How were they received by educators at the time? What changes and advancements did new technologies bring to education? By answering these questions, we can gain a broader perspective on the current edtech craze.
