Children, do you know the song "100 Great People Who Made Korea Shine"? It's a wonderful song that gives a glimpse into our nation's long history. I think the children reading this book will be humming along excitedly as soon as they see the title.
If we look at our history, there were good times and difficult times.
There were heroes who sacrificed their lives for their country, and there were outstanding scholars and artists, but there were also those who put the country in danger.
If we leave out the bad things and only record the good things, it is not a correct historical record.
Both glorious and not-so-glorious moments must be recorded in the great tower of time called history and passed down to future generations.
