Into the book
At seven years old, you'll learn that the world is boring, right?
--- p.30
At fifteen, you learn that the most distant celestial body visible to the naked eye is the Andromeda Galaxy.
Andromeda will collide with our galaxy in about three billion years.
But before that, you have to learn how to kiss.
--- p.48
Twenty-nine years old, one thing I haven't learned yet.
How to avoid getting depressed when you're home alone on a Saturday afternoon.
--- p.76
Fifty-seven years old, imagine the moon rising only once every hundred years.
How awesome it would be to see that.
--- p.130
Eighty-one years old, now I'm not counting the years, but the moments I spend happily?
--- p.172
At ninety-four, you think as you bring the empty jar of strawberry jam down to the cellar.
Who knows, you might need this again? And here you are, making raspberry jam again.
--- p.30

Publisher's Review
A picture book about life from 0 to 100 years old, seen in 100 cuts.
Every time I turn the page, I encounter moments of life that I will encounter at that age.
It unfolds with delicate and specific writing and colorful, sensual pictures.
Even though every day seems the same, the true aspects of life are slightly different.
The beautiful appearance is captured in a simple and informative way in 212 pages.
What have I learned in life?
A story that contains all of our lives
To write this article, the author met people of various ages and asked them:
"What have you learned in life?" I collected so many answers and compiled them into a book.
Maybe that's why.
The life this picture book shows is neither abstract nor esoteric.
The text that follows, listing specific situations, seems to be saying, "Life is just about living," rather than informing us, "This is what life is like."
A repetition of days when everything is difficult, and then everything becomes easy.
Somewhere in between, those of us reading this book might find ourselves slapping our knees in sympathy, finding solace, or perhaps even finding courage.
If the text, which continues in a calm manner, captures the overall flow and breath through delicate emotions, the colorful pictures are also interesting.
Sometimes very simple, sometimes filling the screen, the pictures that follow contain other stories that this book shows.
Each sensual picture seems to tell a different story, yet flows naturally like water.
It would be nice to follow the breathing of the picture and feel the charm of the picture book for a moment.
The speaker continues to speak to someone, but the target is not necessarily fixed from beginning to end.
The figures appearing in the paintings are sometimes female, sometimes male, and have various skin colors and body types.
At some point, you might see yourself in the book.
The protagonist of this book is not someone living life, but life itself.
That life could be my life, and then suddenly become the life of someone I don't know.
This story is so delicate and yet so universal that it resonates with all of our lives.
Where are you at in your life?
All-Age Picture Books for All Generations
Life is for everyone, but it is not the same for everyone.
Everyone who reads this book will come up with their own story.
I ask myself questions like, what have I learned, where am I living now?
So, even though it is the same scene, each person can feel something different.
Just like in the book, what you feel at each age is different.
The facts that life teaches us are things that can never be learned like mathematical formulas.
Perhaps that is why, among the many people the author has met, the words of the 94-year-old author remain in my heart.
“I often feel like I’m that little girl from back in the day.
I ask myself, “Have I learned anything in life?” Even though I have lived countless days, I am only living today. The question remains, “What have I learned in life?”
There may be many sentences in this book that you don't understand.
Therefore, the author recommends reading this book with people with a lot of life experience and sharing stories to enrich your life experiences.
Perhaps through that conversation we will come to understand each other's lives better.
There must have been a time when everyone was happy just looking at the moon in the sky, and when they couldn't just pass by a pretty stone.
But at some point, hasn't the world become so routine and familiar that we no longer even look up at the moon or simply pass by a pretty pebble? This is a picture essay that invites you to read it with your parents, friends, a loved one, or even a stranger, on an ordinary, ordinary day, and share the joys and sorrows of your lives.
