At first, it was a cartoon that I roughly drew in Paint and uploaded to the Internet.
'Let's organize the things I find interesting into a comic!' That was my light-hearted attitude.
The cartoon drawn in that way was truly loved by many.
I've met many fans who bought books and read them over and over again until they were tattered.
Since then, ‘insects’ and ‘comics’ have become my identity, and this work, which has both the words ‘insects’ and ‘comics’ in its title, has become my representative work.
However, it was a work that always left something to be desired.
As it was a work that started lightly, as an artist, I was very concerned about the lackluster picture.
Moreover, new facts about insects are discovered every year.
I felt the need to update these facts and reflect them in the book.
That's why I've come up with this revised edition.
If you dare to try to touch up a 'masterpiece' and get caught up in the masterpiece disease and take a long swing, you'll end up swinging and missing.
This is a light revision.
I touched up the parts that needed fixing and the pictures that I absolutely couldn't stand to look at.
I think that even the raw, embarrassing aspects of the past are delicious in their own way.

When I was in my third year of middle school, contemplating between being a cartoonist and a scientist, a Galoa bug happened to appear in front of me while I was collecting insects, and it completely immersed me in the world of science (though I still draw cartoons).
Well, this guy is called a 'living fossil'.
Some of the insects that lived during the Ice Age have survived to this day.
Come to think of it, until then, the only insect I knew of from the past was the 'big dragonfly'.
Beyond the insects we knew about, there was a realm of 400 million years.
The Galoa bug was the first to show me that there was a long, long past.
