Into the book
Even before I begin writing, I am quite excited about meeting you all.
The reason is that in this book I will talk about the most important encounter among the many encounters in my life.
Not only I, but countless others who have walked before us have experienced this amazing encounter, found the meaning of life through this encounter, and walked their own wonderful paths in life.
Quite a few of them tried to explain this encounter to their contemporaries in their own words.
Because this meeting was so precious.
--- p.8~9
First, there is the saddest and most unfortunate obstacle, the obstacle created by the Christian church and Christians.
These obstacles come in many forms.
First, there is hypocrisy, the inconsistency of Christians' words and actions.
Although every human being is hypocritical to some degree, the extent of hypocrisy is even greater because Christians speak and believe in a noble way.
Moreover, some people understand profound Christianity only superficially or in part, or even project their own desires onto its contents and accept only the parts they want, which can lead to a kind of distortion.
So, when people who do not know God hear and see the words and actions of Christians, they not only doubt their authenticity but also feel disgusted.
--- p.21
Before we talk about the present world and our problems that we existentially experience, we first need to know how God originally created the world—His original plan.
The Bible declares that humans did not come into existence by chance, but were created by God with a special plan.
That He created us as the most unique beings among all creation.
So, let us examine what God's original plan was for us humans.
This plan of God can be explained through four relationships with us humans.
The four are our relationship with God, our relationship with ourselves, our relationship with our neighbors, and our relationship with the world.
--- p.70
The first and most important response is to honestly acknowledge that I am in charge of my own life.
“Oh, I have acted as my own master.
I was the master of my own life, a life I could not take responsibility for.
I ignored God.
We were ignorant of God's principles toward the world and ignored them.
So, it is inevitable that there will be various brokennesses in my life and in the world,” he said, honestly acknowledging this before God.
This is acknowledging that I am not at the center of my heart, that God is not there.
Honest recognition before God and yourself is the starting point of a new life.
--- p.136
For me, life is a journey of finding answers to true questions and enjoying those answers.
It is not a life of wandering around without direction or answers, or a life of wandering here and there depending on the situation and mood of the time, but rather a journey of walking the path of life that becomes clearer little by little.
So, in a way, getting older is a happy thing.
When I look back on the path I've walked, I feel grateful and relieved that I can continue on this path.
On this path, I meet God, who created all things in heaven and earth, and more importantly, who sent me into this world, and I come to know His heart.
I dare to believe that I am walking with Him, enjoying a rich life where everything in the world is properly understood and lived properly because of Him, and I await the day when I will finally know Him, not dimly, but as if I were seeing Him face to face.

Publisher's Review
True answers to true questions
"Then how shall we live?"
Until his mid-30s, there was a person who lived fighting against social injustice.
One day, I started going to church through my girlfriend's introduction, and there I encountered a Christianity that was different from the one I knew.
After telling them about God's plan and governance, I asked them what personal decisions they would make.
“The story I heard was very revolutionary to me.
"I need time to decide to live a life completely different from the one I've lived so far." He was an honest man.
I realized that believing in God is not just about choosing a religion or cultivating the mind, but rather about changing the direction of one's life.
A few weeks later, this man decided to accept Jesus into his heart and was baptized (pages 158-159).
These examples show that many people are searching for meaning and purpose in their lives, and that for those who have genuine questions, genuine answers can be a decisive turning point in changing their lives.
In fact, life is a journey to find the meaning of life and the ultimate truth.
Whether you're someone who finds life so difficult that you can't even question its meaning, or someone who finds life so enjoyable, no one is free from the questions that come to mind from time to time: "What is life?" or "Is it okay to live like this?"
Unlike animals, all humans, either actively or passively, ask or search for the meaning of life.
This book began with the author's 'most important encounter' in his late teens.
In fact, this is not just the author's experience alone; countless predecessors in faith have already experienced this amazing encounter, and through this encounter, they have found the meaning of life and their own path.
Quite a few of them told their contemporaries about this encounter in their own words.
This book is also a '21st century Korean version' of such an attempt.
The author, who was greatly helped by Francis Schaeffer's words, "If you ask honest questions, you will receive honest answers," whom he met during his college years, suggests that we take a journey through Christianity through honest and sincere questions, along with this book.
"Just as my honest question found an answer, your honest and sincere pursuit will find an answer.
If there is a true being who can give that answer."
This book, which has been consistently updated over the past 13 years and shared with those who visit Nadulmok Church, clearly explains the 'Basic Truths of Christianity' in seven chapters.
The first story deals with three doors and three obstacles to Christian faith, and the second story deals with two positions on 'God': atheism and theism, introducing the crucial differences between Christianity and other religions.
The third story tells us what the conditions for true happiness are, and the fourth story compares the world God originally created with how our world has changed.
The fifth story explores why the world is broken, the sixth explores God's solution and how we should respond, and the final story invites readers on this spiritual journey.
How to Use "Invitation to an Abundant Life"
The book's narrative is profound enough to have many philosophers and theologians grapple with it for a lifetime, yet simple enough to be understood by even those without special education.
Share the seven stories with close friends, preferably meeting once a week for three weeks to read and discuss two stories.
The 'Sharing Questions' included at the end of each story are prepared for this purpose.
It's important to digest this topic so that you're not too hasty to give yourself an honest answer, but also so that you don't let the pursuit drag on so much that you break.
Watching the video titled “Invitation to an Abundant Life” on the Nadulmok Church website can be a great help in understanding this book.
Also, 21 videos answering the most frequently asked questions on spiritual journeys, such as “How can I believe in the miracles of the Bible?” “Why are there so many denominations in the church?” “Why do I have to believe in God when I can just live a good life?” “Can science and faith coexist?” are available on the website of “Path Seekers” (www.imseeker.org) and are 3-4 minutes long (‘FAQ on Christianity and the Bible’).
Used appropriately, it can help us overcome intellectual obstacles to Christianity.
These questions will vary depending on the direction and depth of each person's concerns, the amount of reading and conversation with others, and in such cases, you may appropriately utilize the recommended books in the appendix.
Obstacles that prevent people from accepting the gospel
This book identifies three obstacles that prevent people from having a true relationship with God.
First, there are obstacles created by the Christian church and Christians.
The hypocrisy of Christians who do not live up to their words, the appearance of having words but not living, and the attitude of some Christians or churches that they have a monopoly on the truth are factors that close the door of their hearts to the gospel.
The second obstacle has to do with the intellectual realm.
In an era where scientific thinking is valued due to the remarkable advancement of science and a rationalistic worldview dominated by reason, it has become extremely important to understand everything rationally.
In this situation, saying "believe unconditionally" is intellectual negligence and even intellectual violence.
Because of this attitude, many people give up before even thinking about the fundamental truth.
The third obstacle is the existential obstacle, which has to do with the suffering that each individual experiences.
It is time to face the pain brought on by your own wrong choices and mistakes, or the pain that has befallen you inevitably.
Rather than silence those with their own stories by saying, "Don't ask, just believe," this book advises us to encourage them to ask.
Because I believe that the answer lies in 'honest questions'.
Four Core Truths of Christianity
The most widely used introduction to those seeking Jesus is a thin 15-page booklet from the Korea Campus Crusade for Christ (CCC) called “Have You Heard of the Four Spiritual Laws?”
This booklet, which effectively explains the spiritual principles between God and man, has provided a point of contact for many people to discover God's will and live a new life.
Although it does not introduce the gospel in a short period of time like the booklet 'Sayoungri', this book also organizes the basic truths of Christianity into four points.
It persuasively explains who God is, where the problems of this world come from, what God's solutions are, and how we can come under God's rule.
1.
God created me and the world, and He is the Lord of me and the world.
2.
However, humans have driven God out of his position as master and have become their own masters, living according to their own righteousness, which has led to serious problems. The Bible calls this rejection of God and self-centeredness sin.
3.
Because we cannot solve this problem of sin on our own, God, who loves us, came to us in person, showed us who He is, and died in our place to pay the price for sin.
In this way, He opened the way for us to return to God.
4.
Those who truly accept that Jesus died for us can dare to turn to God, and thus their relationship with God is restored.
Turning to God means welcoming Jesus into your heart, and from then on, you live a new life with Jesus as your Lord.
A Journey Guide to the Kingdom of God
Through seven stories, the author explains in a very simple way the 'Gospel of the Kingdom of God' that Jesus taught, lived, and demonstrated, and encourages us to live a life in which God is the master, not a life in which we are the masters.
That is, it is recommended that we live under God's rule rather than following the rule of this world.
The shift from the 'geocentric perception' that the world revolves around me to the 'heliocentric perception' that we live centered around God is the 'Copernican revolution' in our lives.
This is the core teaching of the kingdom of God that Jesus preached.
This book serves as an excellent guide that leads readers from beginning to end to live as citizens of the 'Kingdom of God.'
The realization that God is the master of my life and the world must develop into the consciousness that God is the master of the universe, all creation, human history and culture, and the society in which we live.
And the magnitude of the sin of self-centeredness will become clearer through our reflection.
When we realize that this sinfulness, despite having received God's love, persists, and that this is not only our personal problem, but also a problem of our history, culture, society, and human relationships, we come to earnestly long for God's rule and grace.
At this time, we become more and more moved by God's love and grace that has enabled us to stand before Him.
