Into the book
What began as a sharing of the Word in one home has grown into a desire to invite more people to the Bible.
God did it.
And based on the content of the broadcast of “Oship Show,” I ended up making this book.
This book is a guidebook designed to help those who find the Bible difficult to read easily and enjoyably, following the flow of history.
You will experience the thrill of seeing the words of God, once disconnected from your busy, self-centered life, become one story, and the complex laws and events point to the one and only One, Jesus Christ.
But you should never read this book alone.
True life is found only in the Bible.
I hope that as you read this book, you will open your Bible.
In it we will hear God speaking directly to us.
--- From the "Preface"

God accepted Abel's offering and sacrifice, but He did not accept Cain's.
When Cain's face turned ugly, God said to him,
“Cain, why do you look like that? Sin desires you, but you must master it.” The same is true of our lives.
Sin is always lurking around us, and we can be tempted to fall.
But we must rule over that sin and live a life set apart as children of God.
As God said to Cain.
--- From Genesis

Leviticus is a book that records God's love.
This book contains God's meticulous care to ensure that the Israelites, who were living as slaves without laws or foundations, could live properly and not go down the wrong path.
If Leviticus were about the methodology for offering sacrifices well, it should not have been written like this.
In fact, Leviticus does not properly record how the sheep should be slaughtered.
Leviticus is not a book that emphasizes law.
This is a book filled with God's love, which seeks to forgive sins and show us the right path by any means necessary.
--- From Leviticus

The righteous are those who live by relying on and believing in God, while the wicked and sinners are those who say there is no God and rely on their own gods or other things.
Those who believe in God always reflect on God's words and are able to discern and avoid following the path of the wicked.
The path that the righteous walk is smooth because God guides them.
But the way of the one who does not trust in God is not like that, and he does not enter the assembly of the righteous.
In the end, it is destruction.
--- From the Psalms

God promises to give water to the thirsty, to give the spirit to their children, and to give blessings to their descendants.
Those who make idols will be put to shame, and the blacksmith who makes them is, after all, only a human being.
The wood used to make idols is also used for firewood and baking bread, but God laments the fact that people make gods out of it and bow down to them.
It is foolish and impossible to say to an idol you have created, “You are my god, save me!”
--- From "Isaiah"

Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the king's food or with the wine he drank. So he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he would not defile himself (Daniel 1:8).
There was only one thing Daniel did.
There was little he could do, so he made up his mind on just one thing.
The language, culture, and names have changed, but the heart has decided not to belong to Babylon.
They decided not to follow the idols and obscenities of that country and gave their hearts to God.
Then God gave Daniel favor and mercy in the sight of the chief eunuch (see Daniel 1:9).
The grace we need comes from God.
--- From "Daniel"

God covers and hides those who seek Him humbly, who keep His precepts, and who seek Him with humility.
The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save. He will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with singing (Zeph 3:17).
If we rely on God in this way and live with Him at the center of our lives, He will surely save us, save us, and be so happy and love us because of us.
--- From "Zephaniah"

God leaves behind those who repent and break their hearts.
Judgment against idols is not simply anger, but God's way of bringing His people back to true life.
Ezekiel sees the destruction of his homeland in a vision given directly by God.
And he shouts to the people who do not yet know.
“Repent! God is sad!”
--- From "Ezekiel"

God knows where that wisdom lies, hidden from the eyes of all living things and not found even in the realm of the most powerful gods.
So how should we live? People in the world claim that wisdom resides in the world and within people.
But the Bible is different.
Wisdom is not within man, but outside of man.
Wisdom is God Himself.
Wisdom begins with the fear of God.
--- From the Book of Job

Publisher's Review
As the book's subtitle suggests, the author earnestly hopes for the day when "everyone will read the Bible" to come soon.
CGN's "Oship Show," which began with the hope that Woo-joo, the son, would be able to get closer to the Bible before his military enlistment, has expanded to include more episodes and share Bible stories with mothers, daughters, sons, and even acquaintances.
This experience led me to write a Bible guidebook that would help anyone read the Bible easily and enjoyably, driven by a desire to invite more people to the Bible and a desire given to me by the Lord.
From Genesis to Revelation, dozens of videos from "Oship Show" have been re-edited into text, and even in-depth content that could not be covered on air, the author's unique, humorous and witty way of speaking has been used to create a vivid experience, as if watching a historical drama.

The author divided the vast contents of the 66 books of the Bible into the Old and New Testaments and wrote them in two volumes.
"Come to the World of the Old Testament" is organized in chronological order from Genesis to Malachi, allowing you to learn the historical flow of the Bible, which is different from conventional Bible reading, and to read the story of God (he+story) working within it in one go.
The Old Testament contains the story of God's unending, passionate love for humanity, starting with the story of Adam, the progenitor of mankind, through Isaac, who became a foreshadowing of Jesus, his sons Jacob and Esau, Joseph, who became the prime minister of Egypt, Moses and Joshua, who led the Israelites on their journey to Canaan, and David and countless other prophets, all contained within the 39 books of the Old Testament.

Just as Nehemiah rebuilt the ruined walls and first read the Book of the Law through the prophet Ezra, seeking to restore the community of Israel, we too today need to read the Bible, which contains God's word, examine God's will within it, and be made complete in faith.
In that sense, through this book, many people will become interested in the Bible itself, and by opening the Bible and reading it directly, they will engrave God's will contained within it deep into their souls.
Additionally, each chapter includes a QR code for the CGN “Oship Show” video, allowing readers to learn about the Bible in a more colorful way.
Everyone who loves the Word will want to enter the world of the Bible!

From the reviewer's note

Deaconess Cho Hye-ryeon's "Come to the World of the Old Testament" and "Come to the World of the New Testament" make it easier for us to read the Bible.
This book has the following features:
First, it's fun.
The author has a talent for making people laugh, and this book clearly demonstrates that talent.
Everyone who reads this book will smile and realize that the Bible is such a fun book.
Second, it helps you easily understand the flow of the entire Bible.
In the Old Testament, historical books, sacred writings, and prophetic books were reorganized to fit the flow of the times, and in the New Testament, the Pauline letters were arranged based on the Acts of the Apostles.
So readers can understand the Bible chronologically even without historical knowledge of the Old and New Testaments.

Third, each book summarizes the necessary content well.
So it helps readers easily understand the core content of each volume.
Fourth, and above all, this book is a ‘child-rearing book.’
This is a book that a mother compiled after diligently studying the Bible, hoping that her son, who is serving in the military, will become closer to the Bible.
So, the entire book is permeated with the heart of a mother who loves her son, the universe, just as God loves us.
Reading the Bible is never easy.
However, 『Come to the World of the Old Testament』 and 『Come to the World of the New Testament』 guide readers into the world of the Bible in a fun, enjoyable, and clear way.
I hope that this book will be widely read so that many people will realize and experience the truth of “the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit” (2 Corinthians 13:13).
