Publisher's Review
Author's Preface
There is no hope for the next generation of ministry in the Korean church if things continue as they are.
There is a comprehensive understanding and cool-headed analysis of the field.
However, there is still a severe lack of proven alternatives.
Even the methods we have tried so far are not having a significant impact on the next generation of ministry.
If we continue like this, we may never see the next generation in the church again.
We may be helpless in the face of spiritually cold reality, worldly values, and heretical forces.
In this current crisis, what we desperately need is not a 'desk talker' but a 'field walker'.
People who work hard and demonstrate not only through words but also through action, people who prove it through their lives and not just through theory – these are the hidden talents we need now.
We cannot talk about the future of the Korean church without first experiencing it.
The 'golden time' cannot be grasped with just 'talk'.
There must be 'walkers', that is, those who struggle on the ground.
The Korean church is currently in a cold 'cold time'.
In these times, can words alone restore the frozen church and the next generation? We must take action.
It is a time when we need CPR of the gospel to come back to life.
“Our church is okay!”
“Our department is fine!”
You can be proud of that.
But what about those "group chat rooms," "bands," "homepages," and "YouTube channels" that are usually frozen during the week? If they're so quiet, if not chilly, that's a sign of a frozen, cold time.
Although we boast in words that “our church is healthy,” in reality, it may be a “miserable church” or a “miserable department.”
What should the church do in this situation? What should pastors do? What should parents do? This book addresses precisely these questions.
Last year, in 2025, the book "2025 Next Generation Pastoral Trends" was published by seven field experts.
In this book, "2026 Next Generation Pastoral Trends," ten authors present their perspectives.
It's not just the number of authors that has increased.
It also presents more specific and proven cases and realistic alternatives that reflect deep and broad insights.
This "2026 Next Generation Ministry Trends" analyzes the reasons why the next generation is leaving the church, and presents various solutions, alternatives, and countermeasures for individuals, families, and churches.
In addition, it introduces a biblical approach and pastoral response to mental health.
Furthermore, it also provides detailed practical know-how on nurturing and training in faith.
Above all, we shared our thoughts on pastoral leadership for the next generation of ministry.
We also introduce a case study of a model church and an incubation strategy for evangelizing schools, and address the seriousness of religious gaslighting, which we can easily overlook.
This book is not just for the next generation.
It is also a book for the next generation of ministers and teachers.
And that's not all. It's also a book that guides parents to help the next generation live a happy life of faith.
Furthermore, I believe it will be of great benefit and challenge to all those considering next-generation ministry both domestically and internationally.
If your church or department is wondering which direction to take, I urge you to open this book and read it right now.
And I hope that the church service will think about it together with the department heads.
The next generation, the opportunity seems to have passed.
However, I still believe that there will be churches and departments that will create golden times during cold times for the next generation of revival.
