Publisher's Review
A picture book that expands children's world with various emotions felt in the final moments.

We often celebrate the first moments a child experiences as he or she grows up.
We celebrate and celebrate new things together, such as the first birthday, the first step, the first snow, and the first gift received.
But this picture book captures the final moments of life through the eyes of a child.
The last night before my birthday, the last hesitation before I can walk, the last snowflakes of winter slowly falling…
Depending on what kind of ending a child experiences, the emotions he or she feels and the meaning behind them will differ.
The endings we encounter in our daily lives can be relatable, but there are also endings in the world that children have not yet experienced or find difficult to experience.
And that ending can bring sadness and longing, or it can bring excitement of waiting for a new beginning.
Through the protagonist who captures the ending not only in everyday life but also in special moments, children's perspectives will broaden and their world will expand as they read the book.
The child in the book, who has introduced all the last moments he has collected, now asks us what kind of last moments we have found.
Even after closing the book, readers will be able to find new things in their own daily lives and talk about each other's endings.

A lyrical illustration delicately depicting the final moments we face in life.

Each scene, drawn with watercolors and colored pencils, is collected like an album filled with photographs.
And those final moments are tied back together by a common theme that signifies emotion and circumstance.
There are regrettable endings, lonely endings, but there are also long-awaited endings, endings we share together.
These images depicting various final moments unfold with their own narratives.

The fact that the green cup that the protagonist's grandmother, whose hobby is collecting cups by color, is trying to collect for the last time is the same as the cup that the protagonist is holding in front of a grave to commemorate someone in the later chapters suggests that the grandmother has died.
The author connects the two final moments, which were separate moments, and uses the child's words to convey the fact that 'everything finally ends.'
It is a calm expression of the pain of loss, the last thing we will experience at least once in our lives, through the eyes of a child.

The picture book's gray illustrations, combined with its simple writing style, leave a lingering impression.
Additionally, as a Finnish native, the author has captured the distinct four seasons and nature of Finland in her picture books, including mushrooms growing in summer vacation and autumn, and migratory birds flying away when frost falls.
