Light, which always approaches us in ever-changing forms, is a core element of all visual art, yet it is really difficult to find information that properly explains it.
I've read countless books on traditional painting and computer graphics, but most of them only touch on light superficially.
Light is actually a rather tricky subject, and understanding the physics of light is essential to creating realistic illusions.

Light is the bedrock of observation-based art, and plays a key role in composition and storytelling.
Such an important aspect of visual art has been treated so lightly until now.

So I decided to write my own book on light in detail.
Most of the content in this book is based on my own observations.
So, my subjective judgment is somewhat included, and as with all art, not everyone will agree.
Also, some people may think that some of the content is so obvious that there is no need to explain it.
But I hope this book goes beyond being a basic introduction to understanding and utilizing light and offers something new to everyone.
