Publisher's Review
A cat swimming class that even humans want to join! (aka "Beast Room")

The Yahoo Village cats have found a swimming pool.
Why would cats who hate water end up in a swimming pool? Are these cats uniquely fond of water? No way.
The cats in this village, like other cats, do not like water touching their bodies, to the point where they can barely wash their faces.
But the situation changes as torrential rain pours down day after day due to abnormal weather.
Cats decide to learn basic swimming skills for their lives and safety.
In particular, young cats decided that it was essential to learn swimming, and opened a 'Meow Swimming Class'.
Cats who have never seen a swimming pool before, let alone swimming, don't even dare to go into the water.
Swimming coach Hao decides to teach the cats how to become friendly with water.
Will the cats in the Beast Room be able to overcome their fear of water and learn to swim? On a hot summer day, a refreshing class begins that even humans would want to join.

An inspiring story about the beginning of an adventure.

We've all had the experience of cowering in fear in the face of a new challenge.
This is especially true for children who are experiencing things for the first time.
The young kittens in the zoo are very nervous about their first ever 'learn to swim' challenge.
I just don't have the courage to go into the water.
So, it's questionable where swimming lessons are possible, but Coach Hao starts the class by walking around the pool.
The next lesson involves dipping your feet in the water without getting in! In this way, the kittens slowly but carefully approach the water, one step at a time.
As we watch the lessons in the beast room, we realize that jumping in right away isn't the whole adventure.
The process of doing warm-up exercises, soaking your feet in water, and taking slow steps is a necessary process.
That's how the 'splash' moment comes.
"Meow's Swimming Class" calmly introduces the adventure and encourages children to take on challenges.

A treasured piece filled with summer colors

Artist Noh Yeo-ji, who has been showcasing lovely cat drawings full of personality, sticks to original work, sketching with pencil on paper and coloring with watercolors.
Unlike digital work, it takes a long time and is not easy to edit, but he says that the process itself is enjoyable, and that enjoyment is the reason he draws.
These cats, each drawn with such care, appeared at the swimming pool this time.
The combination of water and cats is difficult to imagine in reality, so it really stimulates curiosity and imagination.
The author captures the heat of a lush summer day, the dazzling sparkle of the water, and the cats brimming with the tension and excitement of new experiences, all in a way that couldn't be more vivid.
This is a highly collectible graphic novel that will thrill readers.

Survival swimming is now mandatory in elementary school curricula.
Let's follow the cat and do it too!

After the Sewol ferry disaster, a social consensus was formed that "survival swimming" should be learned in preparation for emergency situations, and survival swimming became mandatory in the regular elementary school curriculum in Korea starting in 2014.
Children now have to learn swimming in school.
Rather than teaching full-fledged swimming techniques, the classes provide the bare minimum essential training for survival, such as how to float in water and how to rescue people in emergency situations.
The 'Meows' of 'Meows Swimming Class' also participate in a swimming class for the first time since they were born and learn survival swimming.
This book covers topics that are taught in our curriculum, such as 'breathing in water and how to float on water.'
Although it doesn't teach swimming techniques in detail, it's a perfect book for getting closer to the water.

Author's Note

“I used to think of swimming as just one of my hobbies, but when I came across the term ‘survival swimming,’ my thoughts changed.
I thought that swimming might be a self-defense sport that you learn to protect yourself.
Some children will be willing to learn survival swimming, while others will be forced to learn.
“I hope this book will be a small encouragement to both children.” - Shin Hyun-kyung

“I saw an old lady swimming at a resort and started following her, and I learned how to swim, which I had never been able to do before.
It's more like dog paddling, but I was able to enjoy playing in the water that day.
I hope that children who read this book will become familiar with water and learn the joy of playing in water.” -Noh Ye-ji
