Publisher's Review
‘Picture Books and Forest Play’ may not be special.
But I wanted to help children see the forest through their eyes, and through the lens of perspective that is essential for their lives.
I have compiled the things I have actually played with children in early childhood education settings and in the forest.
It includes a selection of picture books that fit the flow of the seasons, how to encounter nature, what kind of games to play, and the process of bringing nature into the classroom rather than just leaving it in the forest.

We thought about how children could enjoy and experience nature in a mysterious way, and how teachers and parents could enjoy and be moved by the forest together.
It was a time to share and organize our experiences in the field, encouraging and learning from each other, thinking, "Yes, this is it! This is how you should encounter a forest.", "This is a really good idea."
And starting in the spring of 2023, we will be sharing our experiences with many teachers through the four-season 'Picture Book and Forest Play' teacher training.

We hope that our records will serve as a welcome gift to the forest.
I hope that the difficult forest will become a little more friendly and approachable.
If, as you read each page, it becomes a book that makes you want to go to the forest with your children, I would be extremely happy.
Today and tomorrow, I will continue to discover picture books and not be lazy in my walks into the forest.
