Middle School Math Project Activities Using Algiomass
Description
Book Introduction
『Middle School Math Project Activities Using Algiomas』 introduces 19 project activities that can be done during middle school math classes.
Most of the project activities are in the areas of 'Change and Relationship, Shape and Measurement', but we also introduced activities in the areas of 'Numbers and Operations' and 'Data and Possibilities' to expand the scope of Algiomass's use.
Additionally, we introduced as many project activity cases utilizing Algio 3D as possible.
If you follow this book slowly, you will be able to create Algebra-based classes where mathematical concepts will naturally become integrated.

Publisher's Review
Education utilizing edutech is emerging as a way to reduce the educational gap and enable students to engage in self-directed, personalized learning.
One tool worth noting among them is 'Algiomass'.
Algiomas is a free mathematical exploration software developed by the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity in 2018 in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and 17 provincial and metropolitan offices of education.
There have been many efforts to introduce Algebraic Mathematics into school mathematics, and it is now recognized by mathematics teachers as an essential teaching tool.
Furthermore, the importance of AlgoMath content is expected to be further emphasized as the AI digital textbooks to be introduced in schools starting in 2025 are being promoted to be modularized and usable.
The importance of mathematics is being emphasized as a key foundation for future cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and data science.
The Ministry of Education is also strengthening mathematics education through the third comprehensive plan for mathematics education. The most emphasized aspect is the 'change in the mathematics education paradigm centered on activities and inquiry,' and the tool developed to realize this is 'Algiomath.'
However, Algiomass is still limited to being a tool for visualizing concepts in many classrooms.
It's such a shame, considering the potential Algiomas holds as a tool for activity and exploration.
The power of Algiomas lies in manipulating and exploring visualized mathematical concepts.
The reason I decided to write this book was to introduce Algiomas as a tool for activity and exploration.
Algiomass consists of 'Algio 2D, Algio 3D, and Algio Document'.
Algiomath was originally used as a learning tool in the areas of changes and relationships (letters and formulas, regularities and functions) and shapes and measurements (geometry) on a two-dimensional plane, but with the addition of Algio 3D, it became possible to explore three-dimensional shapes in three-dimensional space, and with the addition of powerful tools such as block coding and probability experimenters, it was transformed into a tool that could also be used in the areas of 'numbers and operations' and 'data and possibilities (probability and statistics)'.
Therefore, if utilized well, it can be a great opportunity to develop students' digital literacy skills and understand mathematics through exploration and manipulation.
