Reading Education Theory
Reading Education Theory
Description
Book Introduction
Since its first edition was published in 2022, it has received warm love from readers.
Additionally, the Ministry of Education has revised the national curriculum.
For this reason, I decided to revise the book this time.
This book explains reading education based on the 2022 revised Korean language curriculum.
Recently, as the social demand for basic literacy has increased, understanding and teaching methods for this have also been added.
In the main text, the wing section was used to reinforce related materials and supplementary explanations.
The “Think More” activity presented at the end of the chapter also increased practicality.

Direction of Reading Teacher Education: Interaction between Theoretical and Practical Knowledge

Publisher's Review
This book was written to be used as a textbook for reading education theory courses for prospective teachers at teacher training institutions such as teacher training colleges and universities of education.
The book is broadly divided into reading theory, reading education theory, and reading teacher education theory.
Part 1, Reading Theory, covers the concept of reading, reading variables (reader, text, context), and reading development.
Part 2, Reading Education Theory, covers the theory, content (curriculum), textbooks, teaching and learning principles, teaching methods, evaluation methods, program development and operation, academic reading, and textbook reading.
Part 3, Reading Teacher Education, deals with the direction of teacher education to enhance the professionalism of reading teachers.

These topics were selected because they are considered to be basic topics that people who are new to reading education should know.
The author's perspective is to provide a balanced explanation of what has been explored in academia to date, so that readers can easily enter reading education.
Furthermore, since it reflects the results of recent research, I believe it will be helpful for the retraining and professional development of secondary Korean language teachers, elementary school teachers, social education teachers, and educational policy makers.
