Publisher's Review
Translator's Preface

As a national bodybuilding athlete in the 1980s, the translator has taught numerous internationally recognized training programs in various fields, including personal training, corrective exercise, group exercise, and golf conditioning.
I am also a living witness to the changes in the fitness industry, having experienced them as an athlete and coach since the beginning of the 1970s.
While the translator has studied countless subjects and taught countless courses, I can confidently say that NASM is the one that has systematically contributed academically to the changes and development of the domestic fitness industry.

In particular, the translator was a symbolic figure of muscle isolation exercise as the winner of the first international bodybuilding competition in Korea.
However, after coming into contact with various international training programs and functional exercises, I came to realize that muscle isolation exercises, which I had believed in, were also part of functional exercises.
And as I reflect on my experiences as a NASM Senior Master, I foresee that the principles of movement and recovery will continue to be a constant in our modern lives, where various sports and hobbies that require physical activity are a part of our daily lives.

Movement quality is the foundation of performance, injury prevention, and rehabilitation. The NASM Corrective Exercise Continuum is recognized worldwide as a practical and intuitive system for assessing and improving a client's movement quality.
To optimize movement, dynamic movement must be smooth, and this dynamic movement requires optimal static posture, and when we consider that this static posture comes from the balance of muscles in the length-tension relationship, we can understand that corrective exercise is essential.

NASM Corrective Exercise Science, Second Edition, is a comprehensive compilation of essential knowledge and practices for fitness, wellness, and personal/athletic trainers, developed and validated by leading leaders in each field.
In particular, the NASM Corrective Exercise Continuum will broaden readers' understanding and provide trainers with a proven, convenient, and systematic/progressive system for training their clients.

I am confident that this book will provide readers with detailed and easy-to-understand explanations of the theory and practice of functional anatomy and corrective exercise that cannot be found in any other book. I have no doubt that this book will be a must-read for physical therapy students, personal trainers, yoga/Pilates instructors, and even trainers who coach athletes.
