Personality Psychology for Understanding Humans
Description
Book Introduction
This book is intended to introduce the research results of psychologists who have scientifically explored human personality, and was written specifically as a textbook for teaching personality psychology to college students.
Unlike existing personality psychology textbooks, this book reflects the following four characteristics.
To enable a systematic understanding of personality, the research results were introduced by key topic.
To help understand the various aspects of personality, we have broadly introduced research from not only traditional personality psychology but also related fields (abnormal psychology, positive psychology, psychological counseling, and psychotherapy).
The content of personality psychology is structured so that students can apply it to their own lives.
Lastly, I tried to introduce the research results of Korean psychologists on personality.
This book is based on the contents of 『Modern Personality Psychology』, published by the author in 2015.
『Modern Personality Psychology』 is a book written with graduate students and psychology professionals in mind as its primary readers, and is composed of a fairly large volume. However, this book was reorganized to be a textbook for undergraduate students by condensing its contents at the request of professors who teach personality psychology and the publisher.
I sincerely hope that this book will not only serve as a good guide that systematically introduces personality psychology, but also serve as a helpful guide for a deeper understanding of one's own personality and that of others.
