Description
Book Introduction
The class 'Buddhism and Humanity' is the first Buddhist liberal arts course that students take after entering university.
The textbook, "Buddhist Lessons," was compiled to provide students with an easy opportunity to understand the Buddha's teachings.
I tried to explain Buddhist doctrines and ideas in an easy-to-understand manner, focusing on basic concepts, and to translate Chinese character-based sentences into Korean as much as possible.
In particular, to encourage students to actively participate in class, an activity sheet titled “Let’s Think About It” is organized by chapter at the end of the book.

Publisher's Review
2,600 years since the birth of Buddhism.
And although Buddhism has been introduced to the Korean Peninsula for over 1,700 years, many people only encounter Buddhism through cultural assets and do not know much about the Buddha's teachings.
Especially during the process of modernization, Buddhism was perceived as an outdated teaching, and there were many parts that were misunderstood due to various prejudices and preconceptions.
In this respect, the book was designed to help most students who have just entered college easily understand 'Buddhism', which is their first encounter with the subject, and 'the teachings of Buddha', which may seem difficult and unfamiliar.
This one book cannot contain everything about Buddhism, but I believe it will help you understand the philosophy and history of Buddha and examine the role Buddhism plays in modern society.
