Children growing one step further!

With the recent advancements in edutech and various teaching technologies in the educational field, modern auxiliary materials such as laptops and tablets are being distributed to schools.
While these technologies are making teaching and learning more efficient and effective, they are also reducing the amount of time students spend physically active.
The proportion of students with low physical fitness is increasing, and interest in physical activity content is also decreasing.
Although students' desire for physical activity remains strong, actual physical activity time is decreasing due to environmental factors such as fine dust, yellow dust, and rain, difficulties in securing time to use auditoriums and playgrounds, and a lack of physical activity content.

To address these issues, the 2022 revised curriculum, introduced in 2024, places greater emphasis on physical activity and play for elementary school students in the lower grades.
In the 2015 revised curriculum, 80 hours of physical and play activities were allocated to the subject of “Happy Life,” but in the 2022 revised curriculum, this was expanded to 128 hours of “Happy Life” and 16 hours of “Safety Education.”
This goes beyond simply increasing class time; it's a restructuring of the concept of physical education that involves students actually running around and moving their bodies.
Accordingly, the author of this book, teacher Seo Eun-cheol, planned and wrote the 'Miracle Physical Play for Elementary School Students' series to help students enjoy physical activities in a more interesting and fun way.

Publisher's Review
This book guides children through physical play activities designed to suit the developmental stages of second graders, so that they can interact with their friends in a more interesting and fun way.
Based on the eight basic movement elements of basic movements, warm-up, tool use, pushing/pulling/balancing, hanging, walking/running, high jump/long jump, and throwing/hitting/kicking, it presents physical play activities suitable for various environments such as classrooms, playgrounds, and auditoriums, so it is practical because it can be used flexibly regardless of location.
The 300 or so cute and fun illustrations that fill the text colorfully illustrate the physical play, allowing readers to intuitively understand the activity methods as if they were looking at a picture book.
Above all, the activities in this book focus on promoting children's physical development and strengthening cooperation and social interaction.
I hope that teachers and guardians can use this book to provide children with the gift of time to experience the value and joy of physical activity.

Accordingly, the author of this book, teacher Seo Eun-cheol, planned and wrote the 'Miracle Physical Play for Elementary School Students' series to help students enjoy physical activities in a more interesting and fun way.

“Physical play activities that were previously developed and distributed to schools were mainly aimed at middle and high school students, and there was a lack of activities suitable for lower grade students.
Lower elementary students have a different approach to physical activity and need play that can be easily implemented without restrictions on weather or special room use! This book, divided into four parts—Me, Nature, Village, and World—was designed to reflect the 2022 revised curriculum.
According to the curriculum, a total of four textbooks are provided per semester, and it is recommended that each textbook be studied for one month.
So, students will have a total of eight physical activity play periods per month.
Accordingly, this book is structured to provide up to 16 physical activities, one per month.
Using one book for one semester, you can learn about 64 physical activities, choosing activities that fit your classroom and school environment.
I hope this approach will be of great help in real-world educational settings.” - From an interview with the author

Kids can enjoy it and teachers can too
An easy-to-use physical activity play book!
Learn in an easy and fun way with over 300 pictures!

A book of physical activity activities that children can enjoy and teachers can easily implement! "Miracle Physical Play," written by author Seo Eun-cheol, guides elementary school students through physical activities designed for their developmental stages, allowing them to interact with their peers and have fun.
The 300 or so cute and fun illustrations that fill the text colorfully depict physical play, allowing readers to intuitively understand the activity methods as if they were looking at a picture book.
Seo Eun-cheol, a current elementary school teacher, became interested in play and physical education after starting his career as an educator. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he began developing content that combined education and play in earnest while producing blended physical education class materials.
Since 2019, he has been running the YouTube channel 'Euncheol's 1 Minute Edu', providing physical play and educational content to teachers, students, and parents.

As the president of the '1 Minute Edu Research Group' and the professional learning community 'Our Neighborhood Arts and Physical Education Playground', and the head of the play development team at the Teacher Creator Association, he gathers with like-minded teachers once a month to conduct various research and practices, taking the lead in revitalizing play education in educational settings.
The author says that this book was completed thanks to the active help of over 30 teachers from the '1 Minute Edu Research Group' and the 'Gababo Research Group'.
Through countless processes of brainstorming ideas for a variety of physical activity games suited to children's eye level, having teachers actually implement them in their respective classes, sharing experiences and giving feedback, new and never-before-seen games were developed and refined, and all of them were able to be fully incorporated into this book.

The 2022 revised curriculum aims to foster various capabilities through physical activities. To this end, this book sets out eight basic movement elements: 'basic movements, warm-up, tool use, pushing/pulling/balancing, hanging, walking/running, high jump/long jump, throwing/hitting/kicking.'
‘Basic movements’ and ‘warm-up’ help build the basic physical strength for physical activity, while ‘tool use’ and ‘pushing/pulling/balancing’ focus on improving the body’s coordination ability and sense of balance.
'Hanging', 'Walking/Running', 'High Jump/Long Jump', and 'Throwing/Striking/Kicking' are activities that require physical ability and skills, and help students gradually improve their physical abilities.
The book is designed to help you start with these basic movements and progress to specialized skills.
In addition, it is practical because it guides physical play activities suited to various environments such as classrooms, playgrounds, and auditoriums, so it can be used flexibly regardless of weather or location.
This will provide teachers and parents with practical and specific tips for planning physical play activities, and most importantly, it will be of great help in helping students build confidence and competence through physical activity.

The activities in this book focus on promoting children's physical development and strengthening cooperation and social interaction.
The core of this book is to help our children grow up happy and healthy and learn a variety of physical and social skills.
I hope that teachers, parents, and those interested in elementary education, physical activity, and play will find this book a gift that allows children to experience the value and joy of physical activity.
