Nursing Process Practice Guidelines
Nursing Process Practice Guidelines
Description
Book Introduction
This textbook has been consistently loved since the first book was published in 1994.
≪Clinical Guide to Nursing Process≫ is a practical guidebook that accurately guides the nursing process.
Based on the scientific expertise and technology of the Seoul National University Hospital Nursing Department, which has accumulated clinical research experience for decades, this book provides 170 systematic and consistent nursing diagnoses and nursing plans in a simple and clear manner.
Above all, since it was compiled based on cases of patients admitted to hospitals, it stands out even more when used in clinical settings.
Additionally, the appendix includes a brief diet plan for each disease and symptom, a table of water content by diet, and a list of diagnostic tests, making it useful not only for nursing students but also for nurses and professors.

Easy-to-understand practical nursing at a glance
Clinical Guide to Nursing Process

Until the 1980s, there were no proper clinical nursing textbooks written in Korean.
Nursing students and practitioners in the field had only the original text published by the North American Nursing Diagnosis Association (NANDA).
The new book ≪Clinical Guide to Nursing Process≫ (editor-in-chief: Lee Myeong-ae, Director of Nursing, Seoul National University Hospital) published by Seoul National University Press, along with the old version ≪Nursing Diagnosis and Planning≫ (first published in 1994), is a book published as a means to improve the poor reality of nursing curricula and to strengthen the professional nursing knowledge, skills, and service spirit necessary for the establishment of nursing as a profession.
This is a masterpiece in which 83 senior nurses and above working at Seoul National University Hospital at the time participated as writers.

'This book is designed to help clinical nurses easily develop nursing diagnoses and nursing plans for each disease and surgery, and to provide theoretical grounds to support them, thereby enabling them to perform more rational nursing care. Therefore, it will be of great help to nurses in hospitals and nursing students across the country.' _ From the preface to the first edition

The most difficult part for clinical nurses and nursing majors in practice is, in nine cases out of ten, making a nursing diagnosis.
Nursing diagnosis is the core and foundation of the nursing process, which involves assessing the patient's condition, making a nursing diagnosis, establishing a nursing plan, and providing the patient with the nursing care he or she needs.
This book's defining characteristic is that it clearly presents nursing diagnosis, the nursing process, and the theoretical basis for each disease, and organizes it in a table format so that anyone from nursing students to nursing professionals and nursing educators can easily find the information they need.
Thanks to the content compiled by experienced professionals focusing on cases needed in the nursing field, a total of 19 editions were published from the first edition until 2009.

≪Nursing Process Practical Guidelines: Nursing Diagnosis and Planning≫, which took two years to prepare with the participation of 53 senior nurses or higher (16 editorial committee members, 37 writing staff) working at Seoul National University Hospital, reflects the latest nursing situations that are essential in the current nursing field.
The book is largely divided into three parts: adult nursing, maternal nursing, and psychiatric nursing, and contains 41 chapters.
Adult nursing consists of 14 chapters including 'Digestive System Diseases and Surgery-Related Nursing', maternal nursing consists of 17 chapters including 'Normal Delivery', and psychiatric nursing consists of 10 chapters including 'Schizophrenia, Delusionalism, and Other Mental Disorders'.
The appendix to the book provides ‘Brief Dietary Therapy by Disease/Symptom’, ‘Water Content Table by Diet’, and ‘Diagnostic Test List’.
