Preface to the 6th Edition

I offer my condolences and remembrance to the late Professor Lee Si-yoon, a master of civil procedure law who guided and cherished me as a disciple and student despite my shortcomings (2024.

9. Passing away.
(aged 89).

The system and content of this book were structured with various considerations to ensure that learners themselves are always aware of the entire civil execution procedure and have a deep understanding of the relevant parts. Perhaps because of this, this book received favorable reviews from learners, and was able to be revised in a short period of time, leading to the publication of the 6th edition.

We have faithfully supplemented any shortcomings in the content, corrected any typos or errors identified, and, as before, introduced recent case law in the relevant sections.
And it reflects the following recent trends in civil execution law.

In order to more effectively guarantee the debtor the deposits necessary for one month's livelihood, Article 246-2 of the revised Civil Execution Act allows one living expenses account to be opened per person, and a new provision was added in Article 246, Paragraph 8 to prohibit seizure of claims for deposits deposited in this account (2026.

There was a time when a real estate auction craze swept through economic entities due to economic circumstances, and it appears that there is still great interest in the real estate auction market.
Although I am not trying to learn the dry civil execution law in earnest, it is providing an incentive to understand civil execution in a realistic and practical way out of necessity.

Also, in the entertainment industry, the recent injunction between the entertainment agency 'Adore' and the girl group 'New Jeans' to 'preserve the status of the entertainment agency and prohibit the signing of advertising contracts, etc.' has become news, and in the political world, the injunction surrounding the 'status of presidential candidates' within the political party has drawn attention, and the injunction in the 'constitutional trial' surrounding impeachment has even drawn attention.
Through these real-life examples, understanding of provisional dispositions, which are a type of civil preservation measure used to determine temporary status, will likely increase.

Although it may not have been the intention, I believe this has served as an opportunity for the general public to easily access civil enforcement, including civil preservation, and recognize its importance.
