Social welfare facility administrative practice
Description
Book Introduction
The social welfare facilities where social workers can work are diverse, including various social welfare facilities based on Article 2 of the Social Welfare Services Act, and long-term care facilities for the elderly that have been in operation since July 2008 for the care of the elderly.
Social workers who are responsible for the central work in these social welfare facilities either major in a university (2-year or 4-year program) or obtain social worker qualifications through a short-term 1-year course (credit bank system) and are then released into society.
However, social workers without field experience often find it difficult to independently perform tasks such as social welfare administration (based on evaluation indicators) that they are responsible for at social welfare facilities or institutions, document creation using the social service portal (Hope e-um), and financial accounting computerization.
The reason is that there is a lack of opportunities to systematically learn social welfare practices during the process of obtaining social worker qualifications.
Because of this, even if social workers are hired, they may work for a short period of time and then change jobs, or even pursue a major and then engage in other work.
In addition, social welfare workers do not have the opportunity to learn practical skills systematically, and are performing social welfare work based on fragmented knowledge imparted by seniors or uncertain knowledge acquired through searching through various regulations and manuals.
In the social welfare field, if social workers who are not prepared with practical knowledge are hired and inefficiency is experienced, the demand for social workers with practical knowledge will increase.
One thing I also regret while working in the classroom and in the social welfare field is that it is difficult to find social workers with practical knowledge, even though they have specialized in social work.
This book is intended to cover the practical work undertaken by social workers in various social welfare facilities for students studying social welfare and social workers with limited experience in social welfare practice.
