The Gakuro Puzzle Bible created by Puzzler Media Limited

Kakuro is an abbreviation of 'Gasan Cross', which is a combination of the Japanese word 'Gasan', meaning 'to add', and the English word 'Cross', and has its origins in the American number puzzle game 'Cross Sums'.
Since its introduction in Japan as a modified version of Cross Somes, it has gained explosive popularity and, like Sudoku, has spread around the world at an incredible rate, changing the landscape of puzzle games.
To put it simply, Gakuro is a crossword puzzle that uses numbers instead of words.
As can be seen from the fact that Kakuro is often compared to Sudoku, there are many similarities between the two.
Of course, Kakuro and Sudoku are different not only in form but also in game rules.
Unlike Sudoku, where you fill in the numbers one by one without overlapping, in Gakuro, you find the sum of the numbers and put them in the corresponding squares.
However, like Sudoku, Gakuro is a puzzle that requires logic to solve, with only one solution per square.
The biggest appeal of Gakuro is that it requires calculations rather than simply filling in numbers.
In other words, you need to add a high level of 'mathematical ability' to the logical, intuition, and reasoning skills you use when solving Sudoku.
The operation itself is sufficient as addition, but it requires a high level of concentration because it must comprehensively calculate the relationships with adjacent cells horizontally and vertically.
Also, there are simple combinations of two numbers, 1 and 2, such as the sum of 3, but there are also many combinations of numbers from 1 to 9, such as the sum of 45, so even the slightest carelessness can cause the entire logical system of the operation to collapse at once.
If that happens, you may run into the difficulty of having to reassemble the previous combination.
But this is the thrilling fun of Gakuro.

Gakuro, along with Sudoku, transformed the global puzzle game landscape.
