Into the book
In fact, in 2012, LG turned the world's perception upside down.
It wasn't a dramatic turnaround from last place to a postseason contender, but it wasn't the neighborhood book that many expected.
Above all, he did not give up the game easily.
They maintained a winning percentage of over 50% until the middle of the season, competing for mid-level positions.
If it weren't for the 'fire extinguisher incident' of Bong Jung-geun, who changed from a starting pitcher to a closing pitcher, they might have been able to compete for 4th place with better results until the end.

--- p.25

Of course, there is a difference between doing something as a hobby and doing it as a profession.
The difference between baseball fans and baseball reporters was the same.
Even before becoming a reporter, I watched over 100 KBO and Major League games every year, and I read a lot of related books.
I am a baseball fanatic who prides myself on not being pushed around by fans, but after becoming a reporter, I felt like there was another world out there.

--- p.32

The sky over Jamsil Stadium, still red from fireworks smoke, celebrated LG's first postseason appearance in 11 years.
Both the LG players and LG fans, wearing matching jumpers, crossed the finish line of the regular season marathon with bright smiles.

--- p.46

Still, LG fans applauded the players who made a great comeback until the end.
He expressed his gratitude for creating a more dynamic season than ever before.
After taking office, Manager Yang Sang-moon responded to the fans' cheers by waving a placard that read, "I am much stronger than I thought," which had been placed in the dugout.

--- p.68

Following 2013 and 2014, this season fell short of advancing to the Korean Series by two wins, but it was still a season that could be given high marks.
Despite reorganizing the team around young players, they experienced a long fall baseball season.
The rebuilding that was not properly carried out in both the process and the result during the dark ages is now headed towards success.

--- p.93~94

Since 2019, Oh Ji-hwan has steadily improved his skills and has been eradicating prejudices against him.
Productivity also showed an upward curve in the at-bats that were considered challenges.
In December 2019, Oh Ji-hwan, who had been avoiding contact with the media, met with reporters on-site and opened up about his past.
He hit .300 for the first time in 2020, and became a Gold Glove shortstop with 25 home runs in 2022.
Since 2022, he has been taking on the role of captain and is on the path to becoming a star in the LG franchise.

--- p.118

Director Cha Myeong-seok was accurately catching the current flow of baseball.
Having commentated on major league baseball at a broadcasting station, I have already closely observed the process and results of the baseball revolution.
After taking office as the new CEO, LG also joined the revolution by continuing its aggressive actions.

--- p.124

There was no roller coaster.
In 2019, LG made up for its weaknesses through the growth of new players.
Koo Woo-seok, who had been waiting in the wings, took over as the closing pitcher from the end of April and has been steadily accumulating saves.
The young winning team consisting of Koo Woo-seok, Jeong Woo-yeong, and Kim Dae-hyun has created a new winning formula.

--- p.131

2020 marked Park Yong-taek's final season. All LG players engraved the word "championship" deep in their hearts.
Park Yong-taek also energized the team as a pinch hitter.
Even when given only one at-bat per game, he was still a problem solver.
The game-winning 3-run home run in the bottom of the 8th inning against NC at Jamsil on September 3rd that led to a comeback victory is still vivid in my mind.
As if to prove his many nicknames, 'Sajiktaek', he came out as a pinch hitter in his last game at Sajik Stadium and hit a timely double.
Even in his age 41 season, he recorded a batting average of .300.

--- p.153

Expectations were higher than ever.
Even in 2013, which marked the end of the dark period, they finished second in the regular season and advanced directly to the playoffs, but their objective performance in 2022 was far superior.
The player pool was deeper than it was then, and the foreign one-two punch seemed likely to function normally in the postseason.
Above all, the team's experience of reaching the postseason for four consecutive years for the first time in club history since 2019 was expected to act as an invisible force on the fall baseball stage.

--- p.179

I was running at the forefront and every victory was thrilling.
We played baseball that didn't end until the very end, consistently winning comebacks.
LG has established itself as the center of the KBO League box office in the 2023 season.
The first time since the COVID-19 era that spectators have surpassed 1 million.
LG was also at the top of the target TV viewership ratings.

Publisher's Review
From the dark ages to the golden ages,
Baseball with unwavering faith

“LG’s dream is to win.
My dream is to become a winning coach.

“I will make our club’s dream come true.”

The LG Twins win their first regular season title in 29 years.
The true story of the past 12 years, from reporter Yoon Se-ho.

There are baseball fans who have achieved 'a perfect match between their interests and their jobs', people who are always heading to the baseball stadium and are happy working at the stadium.
This is Yoon Se-ho, a current [Sports Seoul] reporter who has been working as a sports reporter for 13 years.
From 2011 to 2023, the first essay, "Let's Shout the Victory Together," was published, containing the honest story of the LG Twins, the most popular team in the metropolitan area, to its fans.

The LG Twins' last championship was in 1994.
Since entering the 2000s, the team has not advanced to the Korean Series since finishing as runner-up in 2002.
LG maintained a stable first place throughout the 2023 season, winning the pennant race and finally securing a spot in the Korean Series.
This book contains the past games of the LG Twins, who won the regular season championship after a thrilling winning streak, stories that fans do not know about them, and the author's objective perspective.
The author, for whom daily life became baseball and baseball became daily life, has piled up 13 years of joys and sorrows in this book.
I hope this will be a gift to many people who hold LG Twins deep in their hearts.

There is no eternal winner on the professional stage.
But it is a task that must be accomplished

It's a warm spring weekend afternoon on Saturday, April 1, 2023, the day the 2023 KBO League season opens.
Baseball fans go to the stadium or sit in front of the TV to watch the games of their favorite team.
Fans cheering for the team that unfortunately finished last season and the team that won the championship all shout out their hearts in unison.
Among them, there are people who put aside their fandom for a moment and watch the game with an objective perspective while typing on the keyboard.
It's called 'baseball reporter'.
"Let's Shout the Victory Shout Together" is the first essay by Yoon Se-ho, a reporter covering the LG Twins, one of them.
The writer, who loves baseball so much that he is described as a "know-it-all," "a man of passion and a man of work," and a "successful baseball fanatic," felt that there was another world after he went from being a baseball fanatic to a reporter.
I have been covering the LG Twins for over 10 of my 13 years as a baseball reporter, and I have been telling the fans about them.

I don't think it was vague.
Whenever someone asked me what my dream was in middle and high school, I always said I wanted to be a sports writer.
I enjoyed playing and watching sports, but I also enjoyed reading sports articles.
So I always lived with sports magazines and newspapers.
(From the text)

As much as I cared about the LG Twins, I also needed objective judgment and persistence.
I had to ask the countless players, coaches, and officials I encountered on the field, sometimes even asking awkward or sensitive questions.
As a reporter, I have constantly studied what kind of articles I should write, what fans want, and whether they will be useful.
Today, with the Korean Series just around the corner, the writer heads to the baseball stadium.
We share with fans the journey to winning the regular season title.

Today's defeat becomes the seed of tomorrow's victory
The road that seemed so far away began to appear

This book covers a total of 12 years, from the LG Twins' 2012 spring camp to September 2023.
From the dark days of a downward spiral to the exciting winning streak and the golden age when Jamsil Stadium was painted with glossy jumpers, every moment was recorded.
It also contains stories that allow us to take a second look at the players who have received attention each year, the development and changes of the team, the players whose numbers have been retired, and the faces of the franchise's star players.
As a reporter, I objectively recorded every game, but I also felt a loving gaze towards the players, earnestly hoping for the LG Twins to win.

Finished the first half in first place.
It is an undeniable 'winning opportunity'.
For the first time in 29 years, the pennant race is within reach.
(···) A new golden age, more splendid and intense than the golden age of the 1990s, is dawning for the LG Twins.
(From the text)

The author describes himself as “a happy person who always heads to the baseball stadium even after changing companies and delivers the day’s game to baseball fans.”
I always wrote articles to record and convey the day's game, but all of those days' experiences were born as a book.
This book is filled with moments of laughter and tears shared with countless LG fans across the country.
