A reliable partner for English classes
Find and use the expressions you need right away, based on the situation, learning process, activity, topic, or location!

Since its publication in 2008, the revised and expanded edition of the Dictionary of Classroom English Expressions, which has received praise from numerous teachers, saying, “This book is all you need for classroom English,” has been published.
In order to repay the steady love I have received over the past 10 years, I have removed outdated expressions that do not fit the changing times and revised and added sentences that fit the new trends.
In addition, it goes beyond 'English in the classroom' and includes sentences that can be used in situations 'outside the classroom' such as hallways, playgrounds, cafeterias, and field trips, and includes proverbs, famous quotes, and riddles that can be used effectively during class in the appendix.

You might think that speaking English to students isn't that difficult, but it's not that easy to express all the various situations that arise in the classroom in English.
For example, if you want to ask what progress we are making this time, you can ask in Korean, “Which page is it?”
There is nothing difficult.
But how do I express this in English? My mind suddenly becomes complicated.
Just say, “Which page are we on?”
How do you express the phrase "read along"—a phrase we hear countless times in the classroom? Words like "follow" and "repeat" come to mind, but it's actually much simpler and easier.
Just say “Read after me.”
If you think about it, there aren't any difficult words, but when it comes to actually standing in front of children and talking, it's hard to think of them properly, and it's true that I'm careful and worried about whether what I'm saying is right or wrong.
The most necessary and useful book in these situations is the “Classroom English Expression Dictionary.”

This book is useful for any school or academy that teaches English from elementary school to high school. It contains a large number of expressions, from core expressions to expanded expressions, for each situation, so you can immediately select and use the sentences you need.
It is no exaggeration to say that it covers almost every situation that can occur in the classroom, including classroom management, class management, activity guidance, English learning guidance, and interaction.
If you find yourself losing confidence in front of today's children who speak English better than their teachers, you can experience the burden melting away with this book, which has maintained the undisputed number one position in the "Classroom English" category for 10 years.

Publisher's Review
“The linguistic sensibility of a native English speaker and the realism of a Korean classroom are perfectly combined!”
We trust and select expressions essential for process-oriented, activity-oriented classes.

Why is this book so beloved by current English teachers, even calling it a "bible"? It's because it captures the realities of the Korean classroom.
This is understandable, as a survey was conducted with English teachers from the writing stage to select expressions essential for class and these were reflected in the writing stage, resulting in a book that is packed with 'classroom-friendly expressions'.
From the first class meeting to the last class moment, we provide a detailed guide to all the expressions that might make you wonder, "How should I say this in English?"
The author's unique background, having attended elementary and middle school in Manchester, England, graduated from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, and then obtained a master's degree in English education from the University of Warwick, England, and is currently working as an English teacher at a middle school in Korea, is enough to add credibility to the book.
Because the author possesses both the intuition of a native speaker and a practical sense of the Korean educational landscape, you can trust and utilize the expressions in the book, and as you use them, you will even gain the benefit of developing a natural sense of English.
In today's classrooms where learning is process-oriented and activity-oriented, we must use a wider variety of expressions than in lecture-style classes.
This book's unique strength is that it allows you to use real English used in foreign classrooms, rather than awkward and stiff expressions.

“Learn English expressions in the classroom by reading, listening, and speaking.”
Highly recommended not only to current teachers, but also to prospective English teachers and mothers.

This book is highly useful in many ways, as it contains accurate English expressions that are useful in classrooms from kindergarten to elementary, middle, and high school.
First, it includes detailed expressions by situation and adopts a ‘Korean-English sentence dictionary format’ so you can immediately find and use the sentences you are curious about or need.
Second, since it covers almost all situations centered on processes and activities, it is also helpful in planning various activities such as reading, listening, writing, and playing.
Third, since the entire eight-hour text is provided as audio, it can be effectively used to practice speaking and pronunciation.
By reading books, you can not only learn sentences but also improve your speaking skills.
The audio can be downloaded from the publisher's (login) website and the Colombus app.
Fourth, you can increase your vocabulary by separately listing frequently used words in situations such as tests, cleaning, homework, and inspections.
This book serves as a solid guide for English teachers, prospective English teachers, and students preparing for the teacher certification exam who want to use accurate sentences without making mistakes in class, as well as mothers who practice their own English at home.

Recommendation
The author of "Classroom English Expression Dictionary," a unique resume that any English teacher would want, possesses both the intuition of a native English speaker and a practical sense of the Korean educational landscape. A welcome revised edition has been released.
Because the accurate English expressions in this book are useful in all elementary, middle, and high school settings, I highly recommend it not only to current teachers, but also to college students who dream of becoming English teachers and those preparing for the teacher certification exam.
The revised edition includes conversations outside the classroom, proverbs, riddles, and quotes that will enrich your English learning.
I think it would be a good idea to study this book together in a "professional learning community" that is actively being run at schools these days.
Kim Ji-eun (Incheon Sinhyeon High School teacher, 15 years of English teaching experience)

As a shy teacher who often felt intimidated when standing in front of students who were perhaps better at English than me, this is a reliable book that helped me slowly find my confidence.
The specific expressions that can be applied in a variety of situations provide a glimpse into the author's unique insight, having been exposed to English from a young age and understanding the Korean curriculum.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to encounter a book that is like a teacher.
_Lee Sang-eun (Seoul Songjeon Elementary School, 3 years of English teaching experience)

I'm so happy to hear about the revised edition of the "Classroom English Phrase Dictionary," which I've kept on the best spot on my desk in the teacher's office for the past 10 years and have been referencing whenever I have free time.
This book is useful simply because it contains concise and clear English expressions that can be used in a variety of classroom situations.
However, this revised edition includes expressions, riddles, quotes, and proverbs for situations outside the classroom, which will greatly enrich English classes.
I highly recommend this to teachers who want to lead their classes with more confidence by using fluent classroom English.
Jang Seon-ja (Hong Eun Middle School teacher, 15 years of English teaching experience)
